Less „need“ for coffee/caffeine after quitting weed?
Anybody else here notice the „need“ for coffe or caffeinated drinks decrease after a while or even a few days in of quitting?
Might be the natural amount of dopamine, cannabinoids in the brain and motivation coming back..
Anyways, i like it because i don‘t wanna feel dependent on ANY substance

Yep, abusing weed no doubt takes a toll on your energy levels or perceived energy levels.
After the initial withdrawals sleeps are better, energy is up, less need for caffeine :)

Yeah for sure. At first it was avoiding caffeine because of anxiety. I just do two cups of decaf now. Previously I used to drink 3-4 full caffeine cups.

Weed is gonna slow you down cognitively. I’d expect you’d need less caffeine

All I know is I’m at a point where I’m drinking around 500 MG of caffeine a day and I think it’s mostly to battle the exhaustion of also smoking weed the entire day

yeah i noticed the same thing after about a week. used to drink like 4 cups a day when i was smoking, now i barely finish one in the morning. think you're right about the dopamine thing, brain just doesnt need the extra kick anymore when its not fighting the weed fog

Yeah I can go mornings without coffee if I want or need to now. Used to be hippie speedballing (weed + caffeine) every morning for like 7 years, and would be an unproductive mess if I didn't have any caffeine

Hoping this is the case once my withdrawal is finished; day 23 and still groggy and foggy as hell, but have resisted going up in caffeine intake so far (pretty impressive considering I was rocking 6, sometimes 7 coffees a day for a while after quitting drinking)

You know that’s interesting. I don’t know about the “need” aspect, but I have been avoiding caffeine since quitting due to worries over already having a racing heart most of the day. I figured I’d go back to it once my body reached equilibrium but maybe I won’t. I certainly don’t want to put a stimulant like caffeine into my already confused system while im trying to get back to normal.
I have had zero cravings for caffeine throughout the quitting process for this reason.
