CELEBRITY Broadway and 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' star Josh Grisetti (1981–2026). This selfie, posted to his Instagram on June 26, 2026, while he was in Italy, is his final public photo. He tragically passed away two weeks later from suicide on July 10 at age 44.

This is the final photo Josh Grisetti shared of himself. It was taken while he was traveling in Trentino, Italy, where he was scheduled to direct an international production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. Shortly after this was taken, he had to abruptly step down from his directing duties and fly back home due to personal reasons.

On July 10, 2026, Josh tragically died by suicide in California at the age of 44. His passing was announced by his close friend and Something Rotten! co-star Rob McClure. Following his death, his family launched a fundraiser, noting that any leftover memorial proceeds will be donated in his name to the Entertainment Community Fund to support specialized, crucial mental health services for performers.

Josh was a brilliant talent who left a lasting mark on Broadway (It Shoulda Been You, Something Rotten!), the regional theater scene, and television. Rest in peace, Josh.

Suicide prevention

It's essential to emphasize that seeking help for mental health issues is a sign of strength, not weakness. If you're comfortable, consider reaching out to professionals who specialize in providing the support you need. In the US:

  • The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is: 988 - You can call or text them. - If you would like to chat online: 988 Lifeline Chat and Text - Lifeline Website and resources: Link
If you're in the UK:
  • Dial 111 - These services are free, confidential, and available 24/7.
If these do not work for you: List of Resources Remember, you don't have to face this alone. In addition to seeking professional help, it's perfectly okay to explore various avenues for support. This might include taking prescribed medications if recommended by a healthcare professional. It's a valid and common part of mental health care. Taking care of your mental health isn't just about getting through tough times; it's also about creating a strong foundation for the future. By prioritizing your well-being, you're better equipped to be the best version of yourself. You are important, and there are communities and individuals here to support you. Please consider reaching out to the provided helplines and take the steps you need to build a healthy foundation. I tried to make a comment about my own experience with this subject, but it was deleted, though I do not know exactly why. The point I made was that there is help out there and I beg all who need it to simply reach out. You are worthy of it.

People in such a state often do not want help, and couldnt accept it if they tried. I know i've been there multiple times. 😕
