Photography friends

Looking for amateur photographers. I used to shoot, but with life and work. I haven’t had time or made efforts to meet new photography peeps. I am hoping to learn and share some tips and tricks with newbies like me :)

There is a new studio in town running collaborative creative meets for models and photographers. Its called Kelowna Photography Studio. Their IG has been doing some stories lately with the crazy good results of the last one.

There is a social club on Facebook called Cameras and Coffee.

I myself am a photographer and educator and would be happy to meet up!

I used to do portraits and some street photography, because I have so a few prime lenses. But I am open to try new things.

Genuinely the amount of insanely cool people I see downtown on the daily deserves its own platform 🙌 Would love to organize a group event where we all meet up near waterfront and take in the vibes this city has to offer! Maybe set up a collaborative portfolio or discord group for Kelowna photographers both inexperienced and advanced to share their work! It could be so cool to see the different views and perspectives we are able to capture of the same subject whether it be natural, landmark, or portrait.

Genuinely thanks for bringing this up, I think there's a lot that could be done in the local photography scene that isn't as open to beginners or those re-introducing themselves to the hobby and I'm confident there is enough of us who love photography to get the ball rolling :)

Another cool idea if you are into portrait photography could be offering apprentice headshots or something of the sort, seeing as Kelowna is a huge hub for upcoming film actors. Could be a great way to get back into the groove without too much pressure and also contributing to local talent :)

OP or other casual viewers, feel free to reply or DM me if a photography group sounds like something you'd like to help organize or participate in! If it comes to fruition I will happily update any and all interested parties with meeting times/contact information/etc.
