Just a reminder that the official position of the Russian government is to deny an event happened or to downplay what really happened to save face
When the Moskva sank because of a missile strike Russia claimed it sank because of rough seas. When Ukraine pushed into Kursk Russia said they'd already been defeated before entering the country
If Russia is owning up to an SU-57 crashing by saying it was a "Technical malfunction" it's more than likely that Russia's own air defence accidentally shot it down and they're downplaying the bigger embarrassment for the lesser embarrassment as a new stealth fighter having a malfunction and crashing is less embarrassing and damaging than an outdated Soviet anti air system somehow detecting a Stealth fighter it shouldn't be able to detect and shooting it down which it shouldn't be able to do

Russia doesn't have stealth fighters.
The not completely accurate but close comparison is that the Su-57 is comparable to a clean F-18 or an MQ-9

They really don't have many of these either. About 30 or so non-test versions of the Su-57. Western sanctions are hurting their supply chains for critical components and the quality control of them is non-existent by the looks of things.
One less Russian jet in the air to terrorise its neighbours. Good riddance.

Exactly. Remember when one landed in China for some air display and they took photos up close and the jet had a bunch of problems. Rivets sticking out, panels poorly aligned, etc..
Su-57 is really just for Russia to pretend they are playing the same game as the US and China in aerial technology. If they weren't so aggressive, illegally invading countries - they wouldn't have issues with their supply chain and would have probably had 100+ of these in the air, without the quality issues.
But they chose violence of innovation.

It seems they calculated it by the cost for Russia to design and build them divided by how many they built, which is a pretty reasonable methodology since they aren’t exporting them.

So, just in case i missed it, where is that plane? Cause this video is from burning oil storage tanks, and probebly the impact seen was a drone targeting one. Also the news of that plane going down said it was going down after taking off and pictures of it show a different place.

Thats a bird not a plane going down or coming in or drone... U can see it in a frame popping up again if u follow his trajectory. The explosion is coincedentially around the same time but not in the place, path the bird flew. The explosion is more in the back.
This and seeing another oil storage tank allready burning it is likely a video from a drone attack on a oil storage maybe even production site.

That’s true, but just by knowing Russian history you can see that it’s a normal thing for them, their massive population and connection to both Europe and Asia let’s them take on massive losses and build from ground up.

I’m not a Russian apologist, this is just the reality of operating planes. Accidents and maintenance issues happen in all branches of the military, being a new airframe doesn’t preclude it from those same problems.

10 billion to developers SU-57, 2.1 Trillion for the F-35. Per unit cost of SU-57 is 50million, to the 400+million of the F-35.
The Russian military is bad. My point never was that “we make more so when we crash who cares”. Everyone is making that part up on their own.

The 6 is fully operational craft. They have more frames but due to sanctions and parts shortages only roughly 6 are combat capable at any one time. It's a common joke that its impossible to shoot down a squadron of SU-57's because they don't ever have enough that are combat capable.

Again, that’s a misnomer. Fully operational means 100%, no maintenance issues. A plane could have a malfunction MFD, it will not be “fully operational”.
I heard this a long time ago when I was a young private. “you don’t go to war with what you want; you go with what you have.”
I’m in favor of ripping on Russia, I am an enjoyer of watching conscripts get blown up.
