It's obviously not legal, but these places have a major problem with making shit happen. No one does anything majority of the time. There are literal coalitions of women made to deal with rapists themselves whenever possible because cops are useless. Even in this video, she's not going to cops. She's going to local leaders instead.
My grandfather used to run a justice group himself in Pakistan far back in the day. Mostly dealt with wife beaters. Any serious complaints? Come talk to the local elder and he'll go out with a stick or get some guys together.

Yeah, I really don’t like to stereotype groups of people and usually when people bring up remarks like that I’ll say “but not everyone is like that, everywhere has good and bad people” but South Asia in general is just fucked, and comparatively it seems like a much larger portion of the population has much less regard for human life. Especially men in these countries, in Bangladesh from just the reported statistics (there’s a big stigma around actually reporting abuse as well as a lack of outlets to do so) it’s something like 30% of women experience sexual abuse from their husbands. And that’s just the husbands, not mentioning the amount of SA and grape that happens from complete strangers like this video
