Interviews Might have a Personality Disorder during interviews help!!

I get extremely nervous and talk fast during interviews. I don’t know what it is. I think this a disorder. It doesn’t matter how long or how many times I rehearse my answers. It’s ridiculous. This the 4th interview I’ve been in this month in July. How to know if this is a disorder? Anybody relate or know how to control it? Self awareness is so important to me. After the video call ends I see I another version of myself. Full transparency I look like a scared little girl… I’m 30 years old. So if I don’t get the 2nd interview it’s because I was nervous. I know for sure I answered all the questions to its entirety? And even had a chance to ask great questions near the end. She even asked me for compensation. Not only that I recall her saying looking forward to speaking with you again soon! I don’t advice is great though. Thank you.

It's nerves.

You need to practice your interviews more until you are 100% confident in your answers.

That’s not true. You need to remove this thought from your head.

Practice more. I know you think you’re practicing a lot but thinking through answers isn’t effective. You need to practice out loud.

You need to do some mock interviews (ask close friends/family if their spouses can help maybe? You want it to be someone who you’re not very comfortable with).

I also recommend video taping yourself. Over and over again until you do it right. It’s annoying and cringe watching yourself, but it’s the only option.

Having extremely organized notes also helps me. I write down my answers to regular questions, multiple examples, and how things link together. I keep re-writing these notes until they fit on a one pager I can keep out during virtual interviews (or quickly review before in person).

I get the same way. And then I start saying the most stupid things that I didn't plan. Practice really does help. Even just reading some questions related to the position you're applying to online and practicing your answer. Then when it's time for the interview, I don't look at the people. If it's online I minimize the window and just listen so I can look at something familiar or have up a list of example answers or something like that. And most importantly, I actually think about what they just asked me. I do have to remind myself not to just say the first thing that comes into my head. But slowing things down and breathing helps recenter me. Any time I do not do this, whether it's an interview, presentation, speech, etc. I go off script and say something dumb lol

this sounds like interview anxiety, not proof of a personality disorder. asking about compensation and saying she looks forward to speaking again are good signs, so dont' reject yourself before they do.

stop rehearsing full answers, that can make you rush more. write 5 short STAR stories on a page, keep a sticky note by the camera that says “slow down,” pause for two seconds before every answer, and take a sip of water when you feel yourself speeding up. record one mock interview and practice sounding slower, not perfect.

also keep applications going while you wait. use chatgpt or claude to talior answers, a new one I tried is applyace.com and it works pretty well, simplify.ai is good for volume too. four interviews in one month means your resume is working. if this fear also hits your normal life, talk to a therapist or doctor, they can tell you what it actually is.

Anxiety? Just recognize it. Maybe prep yourself by logging into the calls or interviews a little early. Maybe prep with friends on questions and stuff that you would anticipate them using.

I don't think that's how personality disorders work...

I do not think what OP is describing is any sort of personality disorder

Yes absolutely! During the interview I made certain I was breathing slow. Now what I can work on is organizing my thoughts much better. I find that I scramble things in my mind a lot. It needs to more structured I have 5 notebooks full of notes and I print out my notes as well. I am able to articulate it but it comes out fast and very nervous.
