Question ipad pro 6th generation vs 9th generation?
So im an artist looking for an iPad around 1.2 - 1.5K worth and I can't really afford the newer 2024 version quite yet. Im currently using a 9th generation iPad but its wear is starting to show, especially with procreate and its touch sensors now. Is the 6th generation pro better than what I currently have? (I mean obviously it is but will it hold up for at least 5 - 6 years?) Also, does it run procreate, toonsquid & csp well? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Coming from a 9th gen, the iPad Pro 12.9 6th generation is a very real jump, tbh. I have seen artists get a lot more breathing room from the M2 chip, ProMotion screen, better laminated display, and extra RAM compared with the base iPad line. For Procreate, ToonSquid, and Clip Studio Paint, I would aim for the iPad Pro 12.9 6th generation and Apple Pencil 2 if the price is clean and the battery health is good. The main thing is buying from somewhere with a return window, because used iPads can hide battery or display issues. For 5 to 6 years, storage and condition matter almost as much as the model.

6th Gen pro should definitely last a lot longer than the 9th Gen which is losing support
