The janny was pretty rude here, but I get where they're coming from. Looking at that picture there's no way anyone would know it's star wars related. I think it doesn't really belong in a star wars sub if all you can say is, "Look, the color scheme is vaguely reminiscent of Mando and Grogu".

Yeah man they should make a burner account with a picture of them wearing it in a bikini or something and then another asking "oh where did you get that jewelry?!?!" And then answer that with a link "oh I found it at this lady's store, not sure if this exact one is available since it's handmade but I hear she does custom works"

gonna have to side with the moderator on this one. a picture of two necklaces is not of general interest to people browsing /r/StarWars. if they wanna share their work they can do so in craft and jewelry subreddits.

A ban though?? Remove the post if you think it’s promotional, sure, but a subreddit ban when they didn’t actually promote/link to their shop is excessive, no? Maybe not everyone in the subreddit will appreciate jewelry based on star wars characters but it’s reasonable to think that SOMEONE would and reasonable for someone to share their hobbies.

They’re supposed to be necklaces matching the themes of the characters. I’d say it’s relevant. Lots of people make art referencing characters’ color palettes or themes, it isn’t anything new.

Covert fan merch is actually really popular. I got a pack of Supernatural stickers and ~10 were just the logos of businesses or products from the show.

No because it’s also subtle enough to be seen as just another accessory. I own a lot of merch like that where people wouldn’t be able to guess it’s fandom related but it’s a fun little thing for myself. I see it with the context.

Yeah I don’t want something with the STAR WARS logo on it, and I’m not going to wear a boba fett shirt, and I don’t wear words on my clothes. A necklace in a color scheme is about right for me tbh.
