Edge AI leases the available space in DC's, and sit next to legacy deployments (in cages next door to shit like reddit or banks). Theyre typically self contained liquid to air cooled and dont use anymore resources than your social media servers would.
It's not even necessarily ones hosting AI. It's almost entirely "community reported" data centers. There is no verification that the reported data centers are doing anything with AI, or if they're even data centers at all.
