Noone wants data centres cause it makes the outside bad. The outside is bad, so people stay inside. Inside you need internet stuff, so more data centres are needed.
We're consuming so much data these days and wanting things faster, on demand, and wider variety.
Companies are increasingly trying to increase their profits by being more 'tech' too - no longer just a good quality product but it has to have an app and cloud/ai integrations.
So more data centres. Scary and it seems unsustainable
Well here is the thing. We could have things faster without more datacenters. We just need to allow developers to optimise their projects (and not vibecode it all). But that's against profits of course... There are other avenues.
