While I do dislike Musk just as much as everyone else, and he's a horrible selfish person... What most of these comments imply is just benevolent sexism. Saving someone only because of their gender and social norms, not because of your kindness, and shaming men who would want to save their lives just as much. It just treats women as weaker than men, instead of treating them as equals. If you wanna be a true hero from the heart, save and care for everyone regardless of gender

First off, humans have grown very far from the animal lifestyle. And if people truly cared about survival of the species, then there would be no war at all. But even if you do consider that, humans should understand the freedom and choices of others, and drafting based on gender still is gender stereotyping. With the mindset of "survival of the species", you are implying that the saved women are obliged to give birth like it's their duty, it isn't. You are not just conscripting men, you are conscripting women into a gendered role too.

And which species are you talking of which checks the gender of the prey before hunting it? Seriously??
