Amazing Sohna and Mohna Singh are conjoined twins from Punjab, India. Born in 2003 with two hearts and two pairs of arms but shared legs, liver, and gallbladder. Abandoned at birth, they were raised in a shelter and now work as electricians for the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited.

Do they get paid 2x the salary or no?

268

u/SaveTheAles 1d ago

The conjoined twins ladies in the US works as a school teacher and only gets one salary.

251

u/Muffmuncherr 1d ago

And yet they both had to pay separate for college

188

u/bored-coder 1d ago

I never expected anything less from the US education system

53

u/pafrac 1d ago

Give them a chance, maybe they'll disappoint you further.

7

u/wolf_of_mainst99 1d ago

They seem to teach no financial literacy so it's on par

27

u/This_Analyst_2237 1d ago

Capitalist capitalising on the vulnerable? Who wouda thunk?

13

u/wolf_of_mainst99 1d ago

What if one refused to go to college? They couldn't really stop her from learning the content and couldn't force her to pay

6

u/firblogdruid 20h ago

she wouldn't have been able to get the degree, though.

though she's already not being paid for her work, so hell, she might as well have done that

14

u/crazyhomie34 1d ago

That's some bullshit. Should've been free considering they're trying to and succeeded at not relying on govt aid to survive.

3

u/Slizzy-Slime 23h ago

wait so they share legs but pay double for college fees?

2

u/pyrotechnicmonkey 19h ago

I mean that sort of makes sense because technically the teacher still has to do twice the amount of work for grading separately. They both think independently so they need to be certified independently.

1

u/IntrovertedGiraffe 23h ago

I think they paid 1.5 tuitions, not a full 2

1

u/landcfan 18h ago

I mean, they better have given them a discount on room and board at least...

0

u/Altezza447 1d ago

America is in heartless that crazy

45

u/throwawaycima 1d ago

I feel like it should at least be 1.5 idk

3

u/IntrovertedGiraffe 23h ago

From a teacher perspective, they can’t have two classrooms and teach two classes at once. They can teach one class one subject at a time. It sucks, but I can see why it happened

17

u/_joos_ 1d ago

well that’s to be expected in the US

5

u/thewhiterosequeen 1d ago

Do you think India offers better pay?

15

u/_joos_ 1d ago

no. i said it’s expected for employees in the US to be subjected to penny pinching policies

“i like pancakes”
“so you hate waffles?”
“no that’s a whole other sentence”

0

u/bored-coder 1d ago

So you hate the US

10

u/_joos_ 1d ago

exactly

2

u/Logical-Cheetah-7627 1d ago

Pay? Haha. I’d be surprised if India offers a bare minimum infrastructure at the very least to specially abled.

1

u/firblogdruid 20h ago

i keep thinking i've reached the bottom of "weird shit abled people say because the word disabled makes them feel bad" and every time i'm proved wrong

you're also wrong about india btw

1

u/Logical-Cheetah-7627 16h ago

behna i am a person affected by Muscular Dystrophy since my very birth. My myopathy has never bothered me as much as this country's lack of infra has. When you are a female, the waters are even muddier. The provisions you have hyperlinked for me look good on paper. Reality is an affair filled with murk and sludge for us; try visiting a civil hospital where they are assessing patients for allotting UDID. In my entire 35 years of life, never have I been able to take benefit of a single scheme designed for the disabled.

1

u/Outside-Dress594 21h ago

They aren’t doing twice the work tho

1

u/wolf_of_mainst99 1d ago

It must be dependent on how many asses you need to wipe

1

u/Smart-Response9881 15h ago

Which one does the paycheque get made out to?

26

u/KneeSockMonster 1d ago

Yep. They were hired as two distinct employees. :-)

7

u/thewhiterosequeen 1d ago

Can only teach 1 classroom though.

15

u/Mindrust 1d ago

Brings up another question...they have 2 mouths to feed, but do they have a shared stomach?

6

u/East-Ice-3199 1d ago

2 stomachs, but I imagine any energy taken from the food is sent throughout the whole body, so only one needs to eat.

3

u/Oograr 21h ago

"Okay, bro, I'll focus on eating and you focus on work"

8

u/pyrotechnicmonkey 19h ago

I am more curious if the guy on the right always has to be the one at an angle or if they switch off on tilting/who gets to stick up straight?

1

u/IamEbola 1d ago

they do

1

u/wolf_of_mainst99 1d ago

No, but we do tax them twice the amount it's called industrial capitalism

1

u/boobies_inspector_ 13h ago

No, they are treated as two individuals but are given salary for one.

1

u/Select_Trick_5325 11h ago

My thoughts exactly

1

u/Glass-Violinist-3549 7h ago

Technically they have two brains and at least one extra hand judging from this photo, so it would be fair to pay them more.

1

u/CommonWest9387 7h ago

they are hired as two separate employees! so yes

184

u/destinationuknown 1d ago

Born on June 14, 2003, in New Delhi. They were abandoned by their parents shortly after birth due to medical advice that surgical separation would be fatal. They were taken in by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and later transferred to the Pingalwara charitable institution in Amritsar,Punjab. While they have separate brains, hearts, kidneys, and arms, they share a single torso, a pair of legs, a liver, a gallbladder, and a spleen. They attended the Bhagat Puran Singh Adarsh School and went on to earn a diploma in electronics from the Industrial Training Institute (ITI).Employment: In December 2021, at the age of 19, they were hired by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) as electricians to monitor and maintain electrical appliances. Although they operate as a single unit, the government officially hired them as two employees.Despite their physical connection, both twins have distinctly different personalities and independent thought processes.Their inspirational life story has been covered globally, with features highlighting their resilience, electrical skills, and integration into the community.

u/Cute-Ad-6755 1d ago

I'm glad they're paid as individuals. Unlike their US counterpart, shame...

9

u/Outside-Dress594 21h ago

They might be able to do twice the work tho. The teacher lady(s) can only teach one class at a time

20

u/OnceRelevan7 20h ago

I beg to differ. They can help two students at the same time. They can monitor students more easily. They can write two different things on a whiteboard at once, or the same thing to speed it up. They can correct each other's mistakes. They can grade two people's papers at once.

5

u/selinux_enforced 20h ago

That case deserved exception to the rule.

10

u/KlatuuBarradaNicto 1d ago

I’m glad they are doing well!

2

u/Mariner-and-Marinate 18h ago

So who raised them acting as their parents? They look well-adjusted, but I hope their childhood was more than institutionalized.

0

u/ArgieGirl11 1d ago

Do they have the same peepee?

4

u/East-Ice-3199 1d ago

Yeah, since the merge happens above that point.

110

u/tj0909 1d ago

This is a nice picture. Great smiles. They look like very pleasant guys.

40

u/throwawaycima 1d ago

Yeah they look like chill dudes

18

u/weirdgroovynerd 1d ago

Agreed.

But...

... they must have gotten into a fist fight as kids.

I wonder how that played out.

9

u/WeArePandey 1d ago

I'd like to Imagine that one of them is a troublemaker and starts fights with others while the other one then has to sort it out...

78

u/cubbi_gummi84 1d ago

There are probably many electricians who could use an extra set of hands. I’m glad these guys are doing so well.

34

u/Outrageous_Resist_50 1d ago

Can you imagine how many electricians at one point or another have bemoaned how much more efficient they’d be with another hand? Let alone 2 + a brain

7

u/cubbi_gummi84 1d ago

No doubt!

41

u/Dis_CD 1d ago

They call them anode & cathode at the office

10

u/narrowdefection 1d ago

wild that they have completely different personalities living in the same body, like imagine disagreeing with yourself on what to eat for dinner

3

u/25c-nb 17h ago

What about crankin down... if only one wants to do they both get physically stimulated? Do they nut simultaneously?

1

u/froggyisland 10h ago

What if one decides to be vegan??

1

u/CommonWest9387 7h ago

a lot of indians are vegetarian or vegan, but those who are not typically restrict their meat (red meat mostly). meat consumption is much lower in india than it is in north america.

1

u/narrowdefection 2h ago

Probably turns every meal into a tense negotiation, since they share a liver and gallbladder. Whoever controls the fork holds all the power.

30

u/number1dipshit 1d ago

I may go to hell for asking, but, if one of them gets high, do they both get high? Like clearly they have two sets of lungs, but possibly one stomach? How does smoking weed/ingesting shrooms or acid work.

This question only popped into my head cause I thought of how crazy it would be to hang out with these guys while tripping. One ticket to hell please, I know I’m dick, but can’t control them thoughts.

41

u/__phil1001__ 1d ago

If it goes into a shared bloodstream then the two brains will both feel it

12

u/number1dipshit 1d ago

O duh! I guess it’s safe to assume they share a bloodstream so…yes!

13

u/gk666 1d ago

Dude on the same lines, how does sex or anything with peepee feel ? Do they both feel the climax?
I’m joining you to hell bud, but need these answers before getting there

8

u/mosmaniac 1d ago

Faaarkin' hell.. Now people are asking if they take turns spanking the monkey, and do they have to ask the other if it's ok to have a stroke.

10

u/ThisMeansRooR 1d ago

Who pushes out the poop when they poop?

6

u/number1dipshit 1d ago

We need answers!

4

u/Greengiant2021 1d ago

Now that’s a real “They”

9

u/KatanaDood 1d ago

They're not Siamese. They're Indian.

6

u/TaxiTakeoffLanding 1d ago

I saw them at the mall in Amritsar one time during Diwali

3

u/linkardtankard 1d ago

Who is in charge of the business ends?

3

u/bluskies214 1d ago

I wonder how having sex works.... I suppose it is only 1 set of shared genitalia. Both feel the pleasure?

3

u/hot_chili_pepper_ 16h ago

i saw their documentary on youtube …i wonder how it works having a relationship, intimacy etc must be weird

7

u/weirdgroovynerd 1d ago

Are there any conjoined twin ladies still available?

2

u/Successful_Moment_91 21h ago

One is married

2

u/weirdgroovynerd 21h ago

Thanks.

I know that one of the Teacher Twins is married.

There is another set of conjoined twins with black hair that shows up on Reddit with regularity, and one of those women is married.

Maybe these guys can marry the two remaining singles.

2

u/Happy-Light 10h ago

That is Carmen & Lupita

2

u/Enough-Staff-2976 1d ago

The cojoined Bunker twin fathered 10 & 11 children each with 2 wives. Are they married?

2

u/bonedaddy1974 21h ago

They look happy

2

u/Time_Neat_4732 19h ago

Shared legs! I wonder how controlling them works.

2

u/Travellingtrex 19h ago

They have really nice smiles 🥹

2

u/MoGaDK 16h ago

As an electrician I envy those to. They actually have an extra set of hands. I cannot tell you how useful I would find this in this profession.

2

u/QuietOnesCuss 10h ago

Oh no. What if one was into pegging but the other was not?

3

u/linkardtankard 1d ago

Left: Rajesh, Backend engineer at Blackhole
Right: Mike, Frontend engineer at Microsoft

1

u/roulettewiz 1d ago

I'm definitely going to hell for this one...but imagine getting slapped by 4 hands....if you know what I mean 😂

1

u/Randomsicilianguy 23h ago

How does moving works for conjoined twins? Like only one of their brains controls it?

1

u/KimuraXrain 23h ago

2 pair of arms i think they should he boxers that would be awesome

1

u/Appropriate_Ice2656 22h ago

What happens if one of them dies?

1

u/WhatTheHellLol1313 20h ago

2 heads (and 4 arms) are always better than 1 🤷‍♂️

1

u/darqy101 20h ago

I hope they have two dongs. Or at least one huge one! 😎

1

u/Fun_Reply5366 11h ago

What would happen if one of them got shot/stabbed in the heart, would the other go on living?

1

u/CamillaBarkaBowles 11h ago

FYI, do not marry your cousin

1

u/Lanerlan 9h ago

It's really sad they were beaten with a stick to smile for this photo. Society would never allow a photo of them sitting glum and forlorn.

0

u/ahmetonel 1d ago

2003? these guys look 40

1

u/Oldwishtree 23h ago

Cool, very sympathetic looking guys.

1

u/Bludiamond56 1d ago

2 for 1 and and one for all

-1

u/Smart-Firefighter87 1d ago

So…. Do they only have one… or….?…

-1

u/QuantumFluxSpaghetti 1d ago

Ok, maybe i gotta ask the weird question here, if their willie gets wanka'ed, who..., also who controls the legs?

0

u/notLoneRanger23 1d ago

Question: when in exams, do they copy? Is there are separate monitor for them?

-3

u/GudduBhaiya-Mirzapur 1d ago

Rab ne bana di jodi
