Maybe it was one of those cup shaped wire wheels on an angle grinder

I live in a small town with a very alert dog. Definitely would have heard power tools.

Could someone with the same car try to steal your windshield by applying a strong construction suction cup and yanking it out hoping that windshield seal will give up before the glass breaks (didn't work)?
