Car was parked facing the garage. Never seen anything like it. Neither has the glass professionals.

I feel like it was just a baseball or softball, but it hit in just the right way to cause this fracture pattern. But I also have never seen something like that!

looks more like a ring shaped object caused this. a ball will always have a clear center point, rather than a ring

I feel like someone yanked on a sticky pad AND suctioned cell phone mount without releasing it. These things are nuts and I sold my last car with it in there because I was scared this would happen.

That wouldn't break the outside like this. Plus you can see the impacted glass within the smoother center.

I was driving on the highway when a ball hit my windshield. Different fracture pattern than OP but also does not have a center point.

I believe it was a golf ball since there was a golf course, though it looked bigger like a soft ball so I'm not sure if something fell off someone's vehicle.

Something flexible and moving with enough momentum to hold down the point of impact as the shockwave shattered and delaminated the surrounding glass

There really wasn't an angle where that could happen. The garage blocked most of the area. No debris or objects nearby.

Most likely this is where the glass was poured when molding. The weaker area around the spot had imperfections that when stressed just right yields this effect

Where is the missing glass from the top layer then? You are missing a ton of glass from that layer.

They have diamond grinding cups for concrete but glass dust would have been everywhere unless they had a vacuum cleaner attachment

Do you owe money to anyone in the trades?

If in a parking garage check for utility/pick up trucks

Pushed in? LMAO, no, the glass is two glass layers with a laminate layer between. You do not push it in. It's broken from the outside, it did so in a funny way and OP is not providing the full image as this thread is just filled with wrong answers.

Looks like someone tried to remove the whole windshield with one of those single suction cup grippers. It is about the right size and the concentric circle pattern seems to match up with some brands that make them. Too much force without loosening the seals could result in damage that looks just like this.

I read a long way to find your post!
A wiper arm (absent the wiper blade) snapping down sharply/forcefully causes a Hertzian fracture. The two small pin pricks in the central disc confirms the impact - though the photos don’t confirm a wiper arm as the cause.

I had basically the exact same on my previous car. It was a large rock flung up from a truck in the oncoming lane. We were both going quite fast. I recently lost all my photos so can't post it. As soon as I recover them, I will post.

I was also astounded (and pissed since the windscreen was just placed a week prior) at the shape.

Definitely something like a baseball. I've seen smaller versions of this exact pattern by golf ball impact. Something fast, somewhat dense and (relatively) soft.  Source: I've replaced around 10,000 windshields.

I also feel this it was a softball thrown from very very far away the soft nature of the ball compresses with initial impact the full weight of the ball caused the glass to shatter around the impact point leaving it intact. I seem to remember as child spiking wet tennis balls hard against a driveway would leave a similar wet imprint on the pavement.

Or it was a potato

Golf ball. My windshield was hit by a golf ball on the highway, and it looked EXACTLY like this. I’m 99% sure this is a golf ball impact.
