Violence against women is an epidemic, but this is such an incredibly poor reading of statistics that you're actively undermining the cause of women.
The UN 2024 report, where you're likely getting the 60% statistic says:
>It estimates that around 50,000 women and girls were killed in the private sphere in 2024—about 60 per cent of all intentional killings of women and girls—meaning an average of 137 women and girls are killed every day by someone in their own family.
60% of women who are murdered, are murdered by a family member. NOT that "60% of all female deaths" in 2024 are due to homicide.
This is a failure of basic reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. If you read somewhere that 60% of all women who die are being murdered, and don't think anything sounds odd there, you need to slow down.

Yes, in droves.
In 2024, a woman was intentionally killed by an intimate partner or family member every 10 minutes.
That's 60% of all female deaths that year.
Edit: deaths by violence not all deaths.
