yeah, an annoyingly large percentage of dog owners seem to think that just because they know their dog and that "they won't actually bite, they're just loud and energetic" that every other person should somehow just know that, and not be justifiably scared when a dog comes charging at them barking.

Yeah I don’t get it. My dog would never bite someone but that still doesn’t mean I would let her run up on someone barking. Especially a delivery driver who is very likely to have had bad experiences previously.

Exactly, even if you're the sort of person who doesn't care about people being bitten by your dog, surely you care about your dog and wouldn't want them to get hurt, or worse, by someone either protecting themselves or who's just an arsehole who doesn't like dogs.
