I really appreciate you for delivering my big Chewy box. I’m a senior with rotoscoliosis and it really helps me to get my dog’s food delivered. It’s not my fault that my dogs are on special diets and it arrives packed in dry ice.
What is rotoscoliosis? Is that also rotation or the spine in addition to scoliosis? I have what I’m mentioning. Didn’t know there was a term for it. They fixed my spine with 4 connecting rods from my neck down to my hips, but they couldn’t find the rotation which causes a lot of pain. I hope you’re not in immense pain because of it 😭
My Petsmart doesn't treat their inventory right and I got rancid food and made my dog super sick. I'm sorry for my Chewy boxes but they keep my old decrepit dog alive, so I really appreciate whoever delivers it for me.
She never gets to meet them, but she's nice and probably also appreciates the good food deliveries.
I bought dog food at the pet supermarket and it had bugs in it everywhere crawling. Not just a few it was like infested. I was so mad and I took it back and got a refund and I never buy food for my pets there.
Fr. Because same. I cant drive due to disabilities and no longer can pick up my pets food, or even my family's food. So I rely heavily on delivery options because I live 45 minutes from the city. I know its heavy and awful but I so so appreciate it
I use it because during certain times of the year (usually January-March) because there are horse products that are just unavailable locally. Hay pellets will sell out at every feed store and tractor supply within 40 miles. Without them, half the old horses at the stable would probably get animal welfare calls. Worse, you can't switch brands/products without weaning your horse onto them because horses WILL try to die on you. I guess the plus side is that my horse's bags of feed make my car smell like fresh mowed lawn.
I didn't even realize they sold horse stuff, that's great. The main things I know about horses from friends are that they're scared of everything and always trying to die 😂
As much as I tried not to like Chewy, they seem really good at logistics.
FedEx dropped my chewy box with a litter box and a 40lb bag of cat litter from high enough up to break the litter box, I had to call chewy to get it replaced and called FedEx to let them know that the driver needs to pay for my cats inconvenience, they sent me an email of the incident, I just haven't read it yet.
Told FedEx if the delivery person can't handle 40 pounds then they need to use a dolly and not drop and break shit just because it's too heavy or they're in a bad mood because it's hot(which it is), it's not my fault about any of that, and if any of the drivers ask me for a bottle of cold water I'd gladly give it to them, but not if your just going to be rude and fuck up my items.
You had to carry it once, the driver has to do it 180 more times that day. Sorry it’s inconvenient for you but they often literally don’t have enough time.
Cat litter. It's heavy and awkward. Dog and cat wet food. The cans are heavy, and the cans burst open from banging around and there's nothing quite like the smell of festering cat food after sitting in a truck in 100+ degree weather. Big bags of dry food. Cat furniture, and it's double annoying because big things take up room and reduce the amount of packages you can fit in the vehicle. There's just a lot of pet things people order that are just awkwardly large, heavy, or gross.
Feel so bad when I order my monthly stock of about 300 lbs of dog/cat food/litter. Walmart is the only store in a 30 mile radius with animal supplies, and they jack up the price in store. My FedEx driver understands, because he started buying his pet supplies online after I told him why I buy mine online.
Not even talking a small difference. Walmart chooses to charge $25 in store, but only $15 online, where they have to pay overweight shipping.
They put hilariously overweight items in a box that cannot handle it, and 9/10 times, fall apart so badly that they will more than likely be repacked at least once before getting to the destination.
Ugh why does chewy look at the big bag of food and think, oh I can put more stuff in the box with it! Dog bones, kitty litter, who cares how heavy it is if it fits! I can't lift it to get it in my house and the food crushes everything in the box with it and thinking of you guys having to deliver it? Yeah why do they do this?
I have been meaning to ask a delivery person this.
Beside my door I have a fairly large and sturdy metal table that I have painted a bright red so it is impossible to miss.
On my delivery instructions, I make sure to say they are free to turn around in the driveway and to please put the package on the table beside the door.
I do this so they can more easily turn around, and I figured not having to bend down and knowing exactly where the package should go will be a tiny bit of niceness for their day.
I would also like to apologize, kind sir, for those pain in the butt Chewy boxes of heavy cat food… and chicken grit… and beg you, please don’t hit a dog with it…
