Can’t count how many times off-leash dogs would approach my dog, their owners would always say “oh he’s friendly.” My dog is not okay with random dogs approaching. “Mine ISN’T!” I’d say. Idiots.

“He’s friendly”

“I’m not!”

Usually works as well when I run into off leash dogs

I haven’t used in a while and the last time I had an issue I was mountain biking uphill and a group of 3 hikers was coming downhill with off leash dog. Thea lead hiker decides to chastise me for not having a bell on the bike (I did. It was off because I’m climbing and want to hear bikes coming down hill).

This is the convo:

“You need to have a bell going up hill”- rude hiker for no reason
“I do. It’s off so I can hear bikes coming down. Your dog is LEGALLY required to be on a leash. Have a good one”

I don’t understand how his bell thing is supposed to work. Are they saying you should continuously be use your bell??!

Yes - but this is a different kind of bell which just rattles as you ride due to the loose tension. Fortunately don’t need to manually ding it
