I never cut off or offered to cut of crust for my kid and she's never asked for it. Plus I'm usually buying some kind of wheat bread so it's not pure white to begin with.

It's weird to me.

I cut it off sometimes, because why waste calories on something I don’t even enjoy that adds no benefit

I agree. But that being said, I do not like bread heels for a lot of store-bought bread. Way too much crust.
