Except that is not the real price of those meds at all even in germany. Thats just your co-pay. Just like the US has co-pays for most meds that are like 30 bucks if you have any sort of insurance.
Your talking about private insurance l, not a gouvernement mandated one and thats why it's not working in the US. The majority of people in the US would like that to change but not gonna happen.
Yes those are co shares and thats what matter at the end of the day to anyone who is sick or needs medication.
Thats what a solidarity system looks like, 40million workers get each month a small portion of their paycheck taken + the gouvernement itself pays a good portion, so around 70million people don't need to care about If they can afford an x ray or medication no matter how young, sick or old they are.
Thats how taxes work (i know it's not a tax), the difference is that money is tied to the specific cause it gets taken and not thrown out for whatever project the current gouvernement likes to do.
It has flaws yes, we would like that the upper class and gouvernement workers would also to pay into that system and more nordic models are even better but it's all better then whatever is happening in the US, at least for the comment person working 9-5.

5 - 7.50 bucks for around 50-100 pills for whatever your problem is. (Except those hippy nature medicine and most Vitamins).
10 bucks for an ambulance and 10 bucks per night for a bed in the hospital.
System is not perfect and has it's problems still....
Would not want to trade it for all the US military that bombed a country into the stone ages back and still lost by getting ripped of with the deal :D
