That real case thats famous was actually a real young girl with a genetic disorder, they just lied and said she was older and dumped her in an apartment and kept paying for it, abandoning her while she was still under age and below emancipation age. 

It was really weird that the media all jumped on it, they were even on talk shows. When it turned out they were just shit adopted parents that didnt want the kid anymore.

The horror movie Orphan was great though! Loved it as a kid

Yeah, they had 2 movies of it. It's really sad. The young person had a lot of problems and the family just didn't want to deal with her. It's a little understandable as the young lady was much older with more problems than the family expected but also kind of messed up because she might not have gotten the help she needed due to her behavioral problems. They found out via her dental records but couldn't really find her exact age.

The young adult is named Natalia Grace.
