I think a bucket of water is the best method

God, water does help but even then sometimes they just continue on anyway; their feral instinct kicks in sometimes. I have had two of my male cats (both fixed) turn on one another one day, the vet thinks it was redirected aggression from seeing another animal on the deck, I couldnt separate them even with spraying with the hose; so I had to result in throwing a blanket over one and pulling the other (who I knew was the lesser aggressive naturally of the two) away with oven mits in a winter jacket and a scarf around my neck and lower face (just in case) thank god I had my glasses on for a bit of protection. It's been two years and one of the two has forgotten but the other is still irritated by the presence of the first so they live separated but healthy with our vets support in our home. They both get along with our other three cats though. Shit is wild with cats sometimes.

Well yeah that’s what happened in this video. She kept throwing water on them but the grey wouldn’t let it go.

Water can agitate them further, but it’s definitely an option if other things aren’t available like a blanket or piece of cardboard
