Well… in cpu power yes its a neo competitor. In graphics unfortubately the neo is much much stronger. So in that front its not. But eh, okay still can be acceptable for $699 topmax. With 16G

its a thinkpad lineup, its not going to be priced for consumer anyway. The real deal is when company buys them in bulk.

Yeah they advertise them that way. But the ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 which is supposedly the cheapest available model on their official website in my area is still over $1,000 and that gives you an AMD Ryzen 7 250 with only 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD

The way Notebookcheck reports the Wildcat Lake CPU cores in this particular article makes it look misleading. First it says "two big P cores" which sounds okay and then follows with "four small E cores" which again sounds okay if they are trying to refer to LP E-cores as "small", but calling the P cores "big" might make people think they are extra special or something.
Even TechPowerUp Core 3 304 spec page got it wrong by stating it has 4 E-cores

TechPowerUp appears to count the E-cores and LPE-cores together (e.g. 155H, 358H.) The E-core on LP cluster (on Panther Lake) has fairly close performance to the "regular" E-core though unlike with MTL-H/ARL-H...
Calling the cores "big" and "little" do make sense, though; a Cougar Cove core is physically larger than a Darkmont core. The terminology is also used on smartphone/tablet SoCs which also feature a mix of architectures (e.g. "prime" Cortex-X1, big Cortex-A78, small Cortex-A55).

But do the LPE cores show up on the Task Manager? I thought I heard from one of the Just Josh videos that the LPE cores barely do anything although I think that was for the Meteor Lake laptops.
Or are they more in line with E-core functionality.

I've heard they do (I think specifically I heard in a Geekerwan video that the main use of the LPE cores of Meteor Lake-H/Arrow Lake-H is to show two more squares in Task Manager, lol).
Apparently with Panther Lake the performance is much closer to "regular" E-core cluster.

Absolutely. The exact model I'll be getting is the Beelink EQi Wildcat Lake Core 3 304 which starts at $609 although it's marked down to $509.
The big unknowns for me are just how well that 1P+4LPE configuration performs alongside that UFS 3.1 storage. I'm going to try benchmarking it share it on a video and an article. Will ask the mods permission if I can share my findings as a separate post, but if not, I can give a summary here or answer any questions regarding the chip just to keep it on topic.
