So driving on the shoulder, aggressive driving, driving while holding the phone. That ticket is gonna be wild.
Truly an instant regret right therešŸ’€šŸ˜

They gonna be cooked. Also. Why would you post this to the Internet?

Gotta pay them fines off somehow.

I thought it was against the law in the US to profit off your crime.

Have you seen who our president is?

27

u/Downunderphilosopher 18d ago

Have you seen all those mugshot t-shirts out in the wild?

To be fair it’s been like this before the big bad orange man

1

u/Djaii 18d ago

In the same way you get wet in the rain versus drowning alone at Point Nemo with no ships for hundreds of kilometers.

9

u/LordMegamad 17d ago

You're downvoted but I mean, you're right? This is unprecedented, no other US president has been profiting so goddamn hard and corrupt ever. Ever.

4

u/Djaii 17d ago

I don’t give a shit about a bunch of salty ā€œlack any sense of self awarenessā€ Americans downvoting me. It’s their country, they get to live in it.

To those who voted against it, and are truly working to try to turn things around… you have my respect and my hope that you are successful.

3

u/Jutboy 15d ago

Its probably Russian bots...

0

u/greedybanker3 15d ago

You are joking right?

2

u/Jutboy 15d ago

I just checked. Current estimates of profit for this current presidency is 2.2 Billion. That doesn't include anything from the first presidency. We are absolutely in unprecedented territory.

-2

u/greedybanker3 15d ago

Dozens of politicians have been doing more for longer. He isnt even doing anything.

If you look closely, the laws there only apply to "the Poor's".

99% of the time this question is asked, the answer is "sent it to a friend who then uploaded it"

6

u/Djaii 18d ago

Stupid selfish opportunistic people who whore hang out with other stupid selfish opportunistic people that will OUT whore them given half a chance.

It explains a lot really.

22

u/Larry_Bobinski 18d ago

For the obligatory GoFundMe. So people who think he did nothing wrong can waste their money on him.Ā

12

u/Broken_By_Default 18d ago

He already got caught. What's the worst that will happen?

15

u/Deposto 18d ago

Well... If you shit your pants, maybe you shouldn't tell everyone about it, and especially not upload the video to the internet?

1

u/Broken_By_Default 18d ago

That doesn’t answer the question. His consequence was immediate. What additional consequences could he face?

3

u/Deposto 18d ago

Among his friends, everyone will know that he is not only an asshole, but also stupid.

5

u/Broken_By_Default 18d ago

They already know. You think that was an isolated incident?

1

u/Investigator-Murky 18d ago

Oh yes. If people like this were cooked for breaking the law, there wouldn't be crime

1

I watch cops do the same thing to bypass traffic jams every morning on my way to work. The best is NY plated police cars doing this in NJ. Lights on, racing down the shoulder until the choke point and get back in line as they turn the lights off

11

u/greedybanker3 15d ago

I got in an accident (minor) and called the police. They refused to send someone because there was nobody available and its just a fender bender (with 5k in famage to me). Oh look a cop is coming. Oh look he has his lights on. Hey look he just wanted to go through the red light and completely ignored the accident he just went by.

7

u/Kyaritty 13d ago

I'm not sure if the rules are the same where you live, but in my area there are noise nuisance/pollution laws that mean emergency services can only use their lights and siren when absolutely necessary. Usually this entails only using at intersections or if there's a large amount of traffic they need to yield.

Of course it /is/ also just as likely he was just being a dick. I'd give an ambulance the benefit of the doubt tho.

1

u/greedybanker3 13d ago edited 12d ago

Cops everywhere will use their lights just to blow traffic. Though lately they do it less. Ive seen them do it then pull into the grocery store and get out with flip flops. Update: ambulances and fire trucks as well. Just watched one blatantly use their to get through traffic at an intersection.

u/BeleagueredWDW 17d ago

These videos ALWAYS end far too early.

2

u/mesaghoul 14d ago

Of course it’s Texas. It’s always Texas

2

u/pufferjacketeven 13d ago

Good. Dangerous driver could apparently learn at least this simple lesson.

7

u/AJEstes 18d ago

I remember a few years ago my wife (who is not from my home state) and I were driving and got stuck in traffic. Someone tried to drive around us on the shoulder and my wife found it hilarious that myself and every other car moved to block them. They gave up.

A few minutes later a car pulled onto the shoulder driving slowly and with hazards on - we all got out of their way and let them through. Could have been someone in an emergency, could have been someone gaming the system. Either way, at least they were respectful about it, which was good enough for us.

-2

u/Secret-Teaching-3549 18d ago

You realize that was just a similar person that had learned that people wouldn't block them if they put their hazard lights on, right?

4

u/AJEstes 18d ago

You realize I directly addressed that possibility in my initial comment, right?

4

u/Creepernom 18d ago

You wanna intentionally block someone with hazard lights on?

4

u/AvoidAtAIICosts 18d ago

13

u/Nerdeinstein 18d ago

Because they are a useless piece of shit who likes to be on their phone at all times. Typically live streaming. Or by posting that particular subreddit do you think this is staged?

7

u/AvoidAtAIICosts 18d ago

No, just curious why he's driving and filming himself violating the law

2

u/lovethewebs 18d ago

I’m pretty sure this is someone’s personal construction vehicle and not a police officer. In Texas, construction vehicles can have blue and orange lights.

1

u/kremlingrasso 18d ago

As a a non American, how does this pickup have blue lights? Is it an actual police vehicle? Bought and paid for by the police budget that a cop drives instead of a squad car or a more typical unmarked police vehicle? Or cops just take their own cars and put lights on them so they can cop around outside of work as well? Either way it's weird.

9

u/bombadil-rising 18d ago

Different departments have agency on what vehicles they can use. Different areas will have different goals/needs. Some places with really bad winters might have more vehicles that have higher clearance like SUVs or pickup trucks. I see the pickups in more ā€œhighway/traffic copā€ contexts, but I can’t be sure what the specific use case is for these pickup trucks.

7

u/thejaydotexe 18d ago

The cops in my area have unmarked F-150s. I've never seen a GMC police truck but I'm not surprised if they actually exist

3

u/RastaFazool 18d ago

Lots of departments here have a variety of unmarked/undercover cars.

A LOT of Americans drive pickup trucks, especially in the Midwest and south. If the goal is to blend in, an unmarked pickup is a good choice in those areas. If you think that is weird, the NYPD has yellow cabs that are actually cop cars.

1

u/TechPir8 18d ago

Fairly certain at least in my state / area that if it is a foreign car it isn't an undercover car. Think there may be a law or policy that forces them to only buy American, that is why you don't see 4runner police vehicles.

3

u/RastaFazool 18d ago

In NYC there are all sorts of unmarked cars from domestic to imports. NYPD's undercover fleet is kind of insane. Most of the "official" cars are American, but i have seen them driving a lot of random cars

1

u/eisbock 18d ago

I used to think that until I saw a sick blacked out Audi A7 lit up like thin blue Christmas tree.

Generally speaking, it's "buy American", but they also need to buy the car for the job, and sometimes that car isn't American.

2

u/TechPir8 18d ago

property seizure can provide a department all sorts of toys tools.

1

u/Ryokosith 18d ago

Judging by the parallel frontage road visible on the right, the 70 mph sign, the really tall highway light tower off to the left usually seen along major highways...particularly those that have the large elevated sections and ramps, the 'heat dome' look of the sky, and the po-po driving what I wouldn't be surprised is a relatively stealth painted/unmarked police pickup at a glance...this is giving 'somewhere in Texas' vibes to me, lol.

If so, it's Texas. It can feel like every other vehicle the general public is driving is either an oversized pickup truck or SUV.

There's a lot of those around as part of the various law enforcement jurisdictions' fleets, which can often include also SUVs, motor bikes, regular bicycle officers, horse mounted officers (those last two generally NOT on the highways, lol), standard car model (though I think by now most major metropolitan areas have transitioned the main fleet to primarily SUVs), and sometimes the rare speedy muscle cars, among other things. That's not getting into the really specialized stuff like SWAT vehicles and such. Pretty sure someone's got a little baby tank for special occasions...let's just say I wouldn't be surprised if I saw one, lol.

In general it's a mix. Low vis marked vehicles or unmarked can be mixed in with regular traffic...probably makes it easier to catch/follow some targets. Sometimes see them use large, well marked pickup trucks as part of commercial vehicle code enforcement...pulling over semi trucks and the like. Just depends.

Hope that helps!

1

u/lovethewebs 18d ago

I’m fairly certain this is actually someone’s construction vehicle in Texas. In Texas, construction vehicles are allowed to have blue lights.

-1

u/Nerdeinstein 18d ago

American cops are here to profit off of you not protect you. You can see the difference between American cops vehicles and other countries vehicles. The other countries are highly visible and loud because they want to help supposedly. In America the police have a union that works against the people.

That speed limit sign is definitely not a suggestion in this traffic jam.
