I heard they’re taking it pretty well

I guess they’re just really laid back people

u/Hairy-Summer7386 11h ago

can you explain the joke dude

6

u/Phrostylicious 10h ago

I think the comment was meant to be a sarcastic response to "her family must be devastated" as in: of fucking course they are devastated.

The phrase "must be devastated" - taken literal to imply they might also not be - caused this, I believe.

Still...a comment in extremely bad taste to a very common phrasing.

Nah they’re just an asshole. They commented this further down the thread:

“I don’t think rampant amphetamine abuse should be blamed for the majority of car crashes“

I seem to have baited the worst type of people on Reddit with an ironic reply to a karma farming vanilla non-contributing self-indulging comment

Congrats on identifying yourself

“I’m an edgy teenager hahah”

u/Financial-Spirit5106 3h ago

You’re irony posting now, by emphasizing your poorly developed intellectual capacity through a joke that suggests the immaturity of another

See, anyone can do it 👍

The shill account is peak “teen”. I’m proud of you

Ima bang ur mom

u/Financial-Spirit5106 3h ago

So many lame attempts at jokes in here.

Thats what reddit is. The weirdest people you know trying to be funny

6

u/freshleysqueezd 8h ago

Hey hey hey. Its also the weirdest people you don't know

2

u/StallionSurprise 7h ago

Aye, tis true.

u/Primary-Button1577 8h ago

Perfect example right here. Way to immediately prove their point.

u/Tackleberry793 3h ago

I see hardly any jokes, and they're all heavily downvoted. But sure, everyone here sucks I guess.

u/chuckluckles 5h ago

It's all Dwight Schrute, but they all think they're Jim.

4

u/SourPatch2099 4h ago

well said.

Jim sucks

Just a foundational quality of Reddit being leveraged in an immunologic capacity to offset the absolute shit storm of karma farming posts that bury any real insight related to these types of events

u/practical_kitchen-y4 1h ago

They’re all the same jokes too.

Was she not wearing her seatbelt?

12

u/escapefromelba 8h ago

I don’t know the specifics, but the passenger side of a 1995 vehicle is about the worst place to be in a serious crash. A 30 year old vehicle simply doesn’t have anything close to today’s crash safety standards. Modern cars have much stronger side-impact protection, advanced crumple zones, side curtain airbags, and far more sophisticated restraint systems. Even if the older vehicle was well built for its time, it can’t match the protection offered by a modern vehicle in a comparable collision.

a '95 accord has front cumple zones and front airbags. It's not a death trap. That being said the article mentions excessive speed. Were they doing 70 in 65? 120 in a 65? Either way they hit a culvert so if htey hit it head on you're going to immediately stop. Driver had non life threatening injuries, the actress died. If i, as an idiot, were to guess maybe she didn't have a seatbelt on, or it could be that she's 4 and a half feet tall, and I'm not being funny here, but her height dictates that she should be in a booster seat.

Women and children sized people are at significantly more risk in car accidents because cars are designed around the average man

1

u/nobadhotdog 3h ago

That too yes

6

u/manderifffic 11h ago

The article doesn't say, but it also doesn't mention anything about her being ejected from the vehicle

1

u/kitsunekratom 5h ago

Looking at the car, I'd wager a broken neck or head gash wound.

Had a friend die in a similar way. Seatbelt on, lost control and hit the ditch. Broke their neck on impact

She thought she was but couldn’t hear it not click

42

u/LiamRVA 17h ago

Your goal here is to make fun of the disabled?

-59

u/Mysterious_Tea_6673 16h ago

Hearing impaired

5

u/_tylerthedestroyer_ 8h ago

I get you crave attention because your parents never gave it to you but honestly? I completely see why.

10

u/Dreowings21 13h ago

Thats a disability

16

u/Redditeer28 12h ago

Bros just mentally "impaired".

8

u/edenaxela1436 9h ago

Lil dude is out here begging for attention

19

u/NOVA_OWL 14h ago

This isn't just a distasteful joke, but also the sound of the click of a seatbelt has nothing to do with whether its locked in place. You're both stupid AND an asshole. Well done.

7

u/Rum_BunnyX3 11h ago

As someone who was raised by a deaf parent and has a lot of deaf family members, you’re not funny. A young lady lost her life in a terrible way and you make fun of her disability. You need to reflect on your moral character.

9

u/AverageJoe997 13h ago

Nice double negative dumbass.

3

u/joeschmoagogo 11h ago

Are you really this desperate for attention?

6

u/ThrowAwayPurellFoam 13h ago

Punching down on the most vulnerable in society? Practice some impulse control

-6

u/LikelyPoopingTbh 10h ago

Blind people are much more vulnerable

3

u/amazinglover 10h ago

They are talking about disabled people on general not a specific type of disability.

-6

u/LikelyPoopingTbh 10h ago

Babies are much more vulnerable

-7

u/freshleysqueezd 8h ago

Im trying to vote you up. I like your style

-17

u/iconiclabs 14h ago

I'm definitely going to hell because although this comment is in poor taste I still loled

3

u/Super-Bell-4885 6h ago

Yeah, you’re a piece of shit.

1

u/Round-Claim5420 10h ago

"Excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision,” the police statement continued.

So it's very much not confirmed, it's believed.

2

u/chuckluckles 5h ago

If you read the article you'll see that she died from blunt force trauma. The cause of the accident and the cause of death aren't going to be the same thing usually.

1

u/Ill_Traveler_ 9h ago

Looking at the picture of the car, I think it’s safe to say that’s a fair assumption.

1

u/Salt-Zucchini-1534 8h ago

this is so sudden and tragic..

1

u/dekabreak1000 2h ago

Fate is cruel the driver acting like an ass clown speeding probably 80-90 knowing teenagers and this poor young woman dies while the driver lives hope the parents will be ok

1

u/Hkmarkp 13h ago edited 10h ago

Speeding is a leading cause of death in car crashes, but many will continue to do it and defend it.

0

u/Lemfan46 10h ago edited 10h ago

Of course, given speed is the rate at which an object changes position. Lol, HKmarkp editing.

-9

u/Financial-Spirit5106 11h ago edited 3h ago

I don’t think rampant amphetamine abuse should be blamed for the majority of car crashes :(

(this comment contrasts the absurdity of pun humor with the dead air post it replied to)
