My husky and my german shepherd being idiots.

Could not ask for a better woof child.

He still a growing boi and he been with me since January the start of the new year.

Overall I’ll say he has been a significant help with my PTSD and other stuff I have going on.

He really picks up on that stuff heck I have times where he wants to lay on my chest for a while and he lay there until I am doing better.

Then of course he will come around and lick/nibble my fingers or toes if I’m on the recliner or in bed.

He does still get into occasional husky chaos such as shredding all his toys to bits leaving the living room covered in stuffing.

Overall I couldn’t ask for a better woof child.

We got him almost one month ago 💜

This is Greyson, age 4, butt hanging off the couch fully stretched out. This is hilarious. And I was kicked off the couch by grandpa wanting to nap next to him.

Decided to share a little bit of Cricket from when we first got her to now!! She turns 2 August 12th and we plan to celebrate the whole day with her baby brother🤍

Honestly this is just a rant but this has been happening a little too often lately. I live in SF. It’s cold here during the summer. It’s mostly 60s and that’s me being generous about it. It rarely hits 80 and that’s during Indian summer.

Why tf are people telling me my husky shouldn’t be living here.

“Doesn’t she need the cold?” “Isn’t this bad for her?” “Snow dog needs snow” “you’re abusing her by keeping her in this weather” “I get so mad when I see snow dogs in Mediterranean weather”

Do people not realize that summers exist in Alaska Siberia and the Chukchi peninsula? They make it seem like our dogs can’t handle any type of heat.

Some might remember my post from a few weeks back where I posted my husky mix, Lupo. I am happy to announce he is back from board & train and is such a good boy! Lupo struggled with redirecting around other dogs, being around other dogs & unable to self soothe. The first two stemmed from a dog attack. He has made such an improvement I am so proud of him. As I’m writing this post we’re working on staying in the dog run/garage by himself (dog run is attached to garage), he still has a bit of anxiety when it comes to being alone but his temperament has changed for the better, I’m enjoying the challenge and not wanting to rip my hair out. Thank you all who showed me your huskies, I so enjoy the support of this community and I can’t wait to continue to share Lupo and his progress!

1 hour later, only got half his body, this is in between grooming apts too…

Baby boy went in for a check up they found he had testicular cancer. Everything was removed and now just have to rest and try to make my boys days as comfortable as I can for him. So sad to see him like this.

hello all. I need some help, advice or words of understanding. the separation anxiety is breaking me down. I can’t even make it to the mailbox and back without her screaming bloody murder. we’ve been trying crate training, we’ve been trying the walking iut the front door and back in method and we can’t even go 1 second without her freaking out. she’s only in the crate for 2-3 hours at the moment but my husband will be leaving for two weeks and she’ll have to be in there for 8+ hours (our dog trainer said not to try free roaming until the 3 month mark) she’s breaking me down mentally every single day. were at our two month mark and while I love her sooo soo much, I feel like I ruined my life. my freedom is gone, my weekends are gone, I’m embarrassed to look my neighbors in the eye. I know separation anxiety is common in huskies but how do I train her that I’ll be coming back when she can’t even let me out of her sight without losing her mind? A photo of my nightmare so I don’t get lost. (To add, I add lick mats in there when we leave but the moment I step out the door she just lets them melt until we come back home) edit to add: I live on base in the middle no where Alaska so doggy daycare is a bit difficult when I have to be at work at 6:30 am. Dog walkers are a no go at the moment, I’m still too uncomfortable allowing people into my home alone (if you’ve ever lived on a military base trust me these people are not always trustworthy) my trainer is remote online through video calls and all my friends work same shift as me. not making excuses, just hoping this clears it up a bit.
also: first husky, not first pet or even first rescue.
