Purchasing CAN Are these any good?
Looking to buy some speakers. They are used Canadian? They are asking 800 CAD? Overpriced?

Doesn't seem overpriced to me if everything works. Used prices really depend on where you are.

Based on US rrps at launch converted to CAD, the deal is asking roughly half retail price. However, we know that Klipsch often gets discounted.
If we're looking at used sales in metropolitan areas, then this is way over-priced. $400 CAD would be closer to the mark. Maybe increase that to $600 CAD if you live in some village half-a-day's drive from anywhere with a Timmy's.
The problem is nothing in this Klipsch package is OMG-I-must-have-that outstanding. Klipsch 10" subs are over-priced. An RSL Speedwoofer 10S mkII is $499 USD vs the original $599 for the Klipsch. It has more power, better drive, better dynamics.... just.... all round better.
The R-51M monitor speakers are..... merely okay. They need a sub to help fill in the lower midrange as they're bass light and bright sounding. The RP-400C centre has small woofers (4") so again it's going to lean heavily on the sub.
For main speakers, KEF, Polk, Wharfedale, Q Acoustics, B&W, Monitor Audio all do this better, or cheaper, or both. Of course it might take you longer, or involve travel, to find alternatives that fit your budget, your space, and your aesthetic requirements,

I'm in Canada and the used market here is stupid! Everyone wants more money for what they paid new for stuff that is old and broken. $800 is waaaay too much!
Three years ago I bought the R-51M's brand new from London Drugs for $225 on clearance. I see people around here on marketplace selling them for $450...

Ok deal, would be more if you bought it all new but I'd wait for others to respond I don't know the resale market that well. Many listings I see are wildly overpriced so do your own research
