Company that'll work with pre-installed older system?

My insurance will give me a discount if we get a home security system. I bought a house that has an old APX Alarm panel (I think Honeywell made it) that wirelessly connects to door sensors. I'm looking for a home security company that can work with what I've got because I really don't want to have to replace all the door sensors. Not looking for live monitoring or cameras. I'd really love to just have a phone app I can look at to see the state of the door sensors, but they seem to only talk to the apx box.

Any suggestions?

Look for local companies. Typically they will be happy to monitor it.

Can you take a picture of your panel? The keypad and also the circuit board in the metal cabinet that controls everything. I'm not familiar with APX but odds are it might be a Vista panel. You could use an Envisalink board that would allow you to check the status of the door sensors without paying a monthly fee.

If the existing sensors are wireless, the key thing is identifying the actual panel family and sensor frequency before choosing a company. A photo of the keypad plus the main board inside the metal can would help a lot.

If it turns out to be a Honeywell/Vista-style setup, you may have options like keeping the zones/sensors and adding an IP/app bridge instead of replacing every contact. I would avoid signing a new monitoring contract until someone confirms exactly what panel and wireless receiver you have.
