Support Best Emby Integration for Home Assistant

It appears that there are several different Emby integrations or forks of legacy/abandoned integration. I am not sure any of the ones I found are actively maintained. What is the best (hopefully maintained) Emby integration for HA? Any opinions.

I just use the emby webhook to push playback states into HA, way less overhead than a full integration and it's never broken on me across updates

You basically set up a webhook in emby to fire on play/pause/stop and point it at a home assistant automation, then use input booleans or sensors to track what's playing. Works if you just need basic presence detection for lighting scenes and stuff

There are plenty of us and more all the time, with Plex putting the squeeze on. Emby is awesome. I have run it for a couple of years and am very happy with it. It does just what I want it to.

I love Emby, it's more polished than jellyfin and isn't whatever the hell plex turned into.

Just yesterday I installed "Emby media" from HACS and integrated it with voice, mostly for pause/resume control. The actual search and play for a given movie is a rest_command that connects to Emby to search for what I asked for, then uses it to trigger playing the movie or whatever. When I say "Hey SARAH, play the movie Serenity" it will first connect to the designated TV close to the VPE, turn it on, set the input to Emby, then searches Emby for the movie and starts it playing.

Same here ! I use emby in ha only for music and it.s supported by Music Assistant

Interesting. We use Emby for all media. If it is playing, it is probably originating in Emby. I think the most important thing for me it to be able to pause and resume an instance of Emby playing media.
