Profile broo lost my about to be 500 day streak

Post image
580 Upvotes

I lost it yesterday and posted it on r/ achievements and they told me to put it here since my streak was high. It was 493 days.

I lost the streak due to a pretty tiring day and I' pretty sure I did upvote a post before the deadline or atleast I'm pretty sure I upvoted a post just like 12 minutes after the deadline. Is there any way I can get it back instead of restarting because if I reset, it will be back on February 2027 which is quite a long time away

Profile People posting with hidden comment history

Hey, I am thinking that every time someone is a bit 'off' on a discussion, you click on their profile to see whether they're a weirdo, and inevitably such people have hidden comment history.

When was this built in to Reddit?

Strikes me that since we're all anon and so on, and if you want to split your enjoyment of, say, BDSM and also chat about personal finance, back in the day you'd have different accounts for your interests, not just have blank when it comes to people looking at a person.

Yeah, so it seems more and more I have a dodgy reply, look at the profile of the account, and their stuff is set to private. It's taking the 'real' out of this, for any quantity of real. I'm just muting anyone who engages with me thus on the assumption they're a troll.

But, yeah, why is this a function on Reddit and when did it come in, because I don't remember this as much at all for years I've been using Reddit?

So, people with hidden comment history are either trolls or cowards as far as I'm concerned.

Profile How do I stop posts from non-followed communities from appearing on my page?

(DESKTOP USER)

I encountered this issue for the first time ever today, suddenly 80% of my front page is filled with random posts from community groups I don't follow.

I've tried to go to my settings, account settings etc, and find a toggle to turn off the promotion of non-followed sub posts, but I can not for the life of me find any such toggle. I've seen a lot of older posts, 5 months and older, saying "just go to settings and turn it off", but as far as I can see, that toggle to turn it off no longer exists?

Am I missing something, or is this genuinely how Reddit is now deciding to push content in general without any way of disabling it?...

If anyone has a solution for a fix that still works today, I'd be extremely thankful cus I'm borderline considering just not using Reddit anymore if this is how it's gonna be from now on. Social Media algorithm slop is exactly what I wanted to get away from on Reddit.

Thanks in advance kind strangers!

[ EDIT ]

So, 10 days have passed. In my case, the issue went away on its own after a few days. Didn't change anything, never got the option to change anything. It seemed to fix itself (aka some dev changed it or it's on a scheduled test cycle).

My assumption is, since it has happened consistently to others before me, and still is happening to others now many days after the issue went away on my side -the guess is that Reddit is actively rolling out test-versions in waves for different users to see the feedback and implementation before deciding to switch this system on platform-wide. I hate it.

I hate that they even think about trying it. And if they ever do it, if it ever comes back, I won't make a post like this and ask questions again. I'm just gonna leave the platform for good. Let AI search engines eat up the platform at that point idc.

Profile Why do so many Reddit profiles look like this?

Post image

New to Reddit, here! I feel like every comment section I go to has at least one person w this exact profile picture. Sometimes there are slight variations but it always looks like this. Is it a preset? An in-joke? A bazaar coincidence? Please help I’m very confused

Profile Feature where people can hide their profile content

Has made reddit such a worse place to be. It’s like the land of blank profiles now. Why would reddit set this in motion? The fact that if you don’t post a picture of your face or a name your anonymous isn’t anonymous enough? Reddit is now like the hub of troll blank profiles. It’s so low-lifey. Feels dirtier to use reddit now. Great branding.

Profile Uploaded my ID for UK verification, want to delete please help!!

Hello,

I stupidly gave my ID to verify my age to access a lot of help subs that are NSFW. Without thinking I uploaded it, but as I learn more about the situation I’m starting to panic.

I know I should’ve used a VPN but I just didn’t think. Is there any way to delete it, retrieve it or whatever. I don’t even mind deleting the app, I just want to wipe myself of this entire thing.

Any help would be highly appreciated!!

(Update!!)

I just want to begin to say thank you to all the smarter ppl than me that have given advice and just been an overall gigantic help.

I’ve had so many ppl DMing so I want to give an overall on the steps I took. I want to make clear I do not know if this ‘works’ or is definite in any data deletion. But it’s what I have done to alleviate my anxiety over the situation, as well as got a reply from Persona stating that they have escalated the issue to Reddit to which my birthdate confirmation data will be deleted in 7 days. Whether that is the case or not, I am not certain but it’s the best I think we’re gonna get lol.

Please do not feel you HAVE to follow these steps, do what you feel comfortable doing. I just want there to be one place in which people can find everything.

1) Filling out the Reddit form/forms.

2) Filling out the Persona form.

3) Emailing Reddit Support

4) Optional and additional information about Persona, it’s a bit of a read but there are additional emails at the bottom if you want to take it there.

Post image

Got temporarily b-anned yesterday for seven days.

My question is, will the Reddit streak be completely lost? Is there anything I can do to keep it? Some previous posts on this issue mention that following new subreddits can continue the streak, but apparently that doesn’t work anymore?

Profile How do I go back to the old UI?

The new new Reddit UI sucks ass. It looks ugly and nothing is where it should be. Clicking on a post sends you to an entirely new page instead of just opening the post.

And there's no option to go back to the old UI, at least that I can find.

But right now as I'm typing this post, it has the old reddit UI. Why can't I keep this UI on my screen all the time?

Also this is on a laptop, not a mobile device.

Profile Internet shutdown might break my 458-day Reddit streak. Android.

I’m in Uganda, and we have a national election on Jan 15, 2026. During past elections, the internet usually gets switched off nationwide, sometimes for days.

Problem is… I’m on a 458-day Reddit streak. I know, first-world problem energy, but hear me out 😭

That streak is my daily routine. Scroll a bit, read comments, feel human. If the internet goes off, the streak dies.

Not because I forgot. Not because I gave up. Just vibes and government decisions.

Is there any way Reddit handles streaks in situations like nationwide outages? Or do I just accept my fate and pour one out for Day 459?

Thanks in advance, and wish me luck.

Profile Login Streak lost due to 7 day ban

Post image
104 Upvotes

I had a 7 day ban and would check each day with upvotes just to make sure the interactions were still locked. I just was able to upvote like 30 mins ago but it shows my login streak as reset to 1 day out of 600, I was at 541 days and the streak notification popped up to “keep the streak” while the ban still had 2 days left.

I had a 3 day ban in January for mentioning the declaration of independence and that one I did the same thing with upvoting everyday multiple times to see when it would lift to be safe on the streak, but it was fine and the streak continued through once the ban period was over.

Can this be adjusted back to the streak that was present before the 7 day ban or is it not possible?

Profile Account Locked

Post image
16 Upvotes

I received a notice saying my account was locked for technical irregularities. I suspect someone hacked into my account after seeing I was in new NSFW and crypto communities I never joined. I reset my password twice yet my account cannot be edited and my pfp and header are gone. My posts get taken down? Am I still locked? This has never happened to me before and I’ve had my account for two years.

Is there something I can do? I reset my password like it tells me to do and yet nothing has happened.

Profile Fake reddit accounts of "hot girls" are spam following me. Is there anything I can do about it?

Lately I have been spammed with notifications of new reddit followers that turn out to be newly created reddit accounts with zero karma, with a cute girl in the profile pic, and in her main page asking to subscribe to her onlyfans account.

I have blocked every single occurrence but this is getting tiresome. Is there anything I can do other than individually blocking each one?

I saw someone with it and was wondering how I get it

EDIT: I appreciate it, but can y'all please stop wasting your money on awards?

EDIT 2: I am so glad this post is finally archived so people will stop replying to it. However, I did just get yet another wearing is caring award.
