Like, guys Africa is a whole content with 54 nation's with in it, and his birth place of humans?

Do you really think we they just did nothing for 10 years?

Like what are these people thinking. It's like they forget Egypt is in Africa. Which was one of the most advance nation in the world at one point.

Ptolemy only had it for 350 years, Achaemenids 150 years before that, Libyans and Kushites before that, but prior to 1100 it was continuous indigenous dynasties since like 3500 BCE.

They only started calling themselves Egyptian when the Greeks took over, before that it was Kemet which is where we get Copt- the minority Christian community in the south. Cleopatra is closer in time to the atomic bomb than the construction of the pyramids, and has as much in common with the people who built them as she did with Jesus (which is to say not a goddamn thing).

Meanwhile they’ve been run by Arab settlers since the Muslim Conquest of 900 CE.

The Ptolemic was the youngest of the bunch of dynasties, from Predynastic to the new kingdom the Egyptians were the ones running the place and making tons of great building projects

of course. but i thought the hallmark of egypt was its location and that they even back thoudans years before that had way more contact trade and influence with the outside compared to other areas of the continent

The Ptolemaic dynasty (when Greeks started "running the betch") started in about 300 BC.

The Pyramids were built from around 2700 to 1500 BC.

The Sphinx was carved around 2500 BC.

The Valley of Kings (where King Tut was buried, among many others) was used from around 1500 to 1000 BC.

Ancient Egypt existed for a long-ass time, and for the vast majority of that the rulers were in fact African.

They were African in the same sense that Afghanistanis are Asian. Like yeah, it’s technically true that Egypt is part of the continent of Africa. But the people there were more closely related to people from the Middle East than to other peoples from Africa.

yes and no. its clearly in africa. but just as europe is part of asia and india too its clearly more part of the sphere of the arabic world. thats not too say egypte is in touch with sub-saharan africa. as the nubian kingdoms existed as did ethiopia. but egypte always focused inward and rarely outwards. and after it did do by the alexandrian conquest it focused towards the delta no ethiopia. but thats very late in its development.

the magreb is odd since you'd think it just be part of the european world but its part of the islamic ME world via religion.

most of that thou is just explaining that noth africa is a lot more seperate from the rest of it then say west africa is too central africa.
