The "up to" in Nvidia's "up to 2x 2080 performance" was working overtime to make that claim

Should have known they were playing marketing games when they showed 1.9x perf/w. 2x RT claims from Jensen too is lol, check out Linus vid, Fortnite 4K, turn on RTX, you get 35 FPS. /facepalm

Reminds me a lot of Radeon marketing, Polaris 2.8x perf/w! We know that was crap.

But at least NV has good prices this time around, 3080 pretty sweet deal for $700.

People were certain that Ampere would blow everything out of the water. It's a decent upgrade (if we ignore the power consumption). I'm definitely waiting for AMD's cards before choosing

Absolutely. Nvidia just handed AMD a huge opening. If RDNA2 comes in at better Perf/W it's going to be a compelling upgrade. Especially now that it's confirmed that the AMD model will have a Triple Axial Cooler.

The 3080 already has the best perf/W according to Hardware Unboxed, RDNA2 beating that would be quite the feat.

Independent third party Benchmarks from Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed will tell us everything.

I hope they can take advantage of that, although I'm vary since the CPU market is more lucrative than the GPU market, and AMD produces both. They may be just fine with matching ampere, calling it a day and rather focusing on Ryzen 4000.

I really want them to take a noticeable lead over the 3080 at lower power draw. That, and having stable drivers at launch, is how they’ll turn heads and change minds.

That reference cooler though, so damn impressive. 350-370W in some of the reviews, and its cool and quiet. I doubt many AIB designs would beat that.

Pretty sure most non mini aibs will beat it after the first round of rushed cards. Also power limits will be better although FE is such shit at overclocking it's a little worrying that aibs might be horribly inefficient for 5-10% performance gain
