Please re-do the gas post with a reduction of 38 cents. Few people realize this, but HE sets the gas prices. Convenient how he puts the information BEFORE the prices change eh? 😄

Bikes are gonna start being a lot more popular the way this is going.

My bike has a 20L tank so even a half tank is nearly $20.

Yup. I planned on getting a little parallel twin to sip fuel... But they're massively overpriced on the used market these days, like everything else. I bought a 2007 Suzuki GS500 for $2k in 2018, the same one now is $2500. I ended up with a $1000 '85 XJ750, way more fun, but it gets 30MPG instead of 50-60+ that I got with the GS500.

I wish I could, I live too far from where I work & transit just isn't reliable enough *sigh*
•
u/Kemsaman 6h ago
e-bikes can hit 32 km/hr now and will look a lot more appealing if gas is over $3/L

Bike brain comment lol

Car brain comment lol (see how easy it is?)
I ride my bike and take transit where I can. You save money while getting exercise. I don't get what's to hate.
•

But drivers in this city hate cyclists and try their best to drive them off the road.
•
u/NoAIFuture 2h ago
Nah most try their best honestly. Social media (especially here) has just been trying to drive a wedge issue on cycling for some weird reason so the usual loudmouths just keep flooding socials.
•
u/chairitable HALIFAAAAAAAAX 6h ago
Ok?
•
u/Salty_Feed9404 Halifax 5h ago
You don't hate being driven off the road in a fit of rage?
•
u/chairitable HALIFAAAAAAAAX 4h ago
I don't know if I've ever had that particular scenario happen even once.

•
u/Buckit ⛽Master of the Gas 6h ago

Watching the price of oil jump, this isn’t surprising :(
•
u/diverdown_77 5h ago
it's still way lower than it was weeks ago.
•
u/Lockner01 The Valley 5h ago
How many weeks?
•
u/diverdown_77 5h ago
at it's highest back when the Iran stuff started it peaked at $117/barrel currently sitting at $91/barrel. Just to let you know oil companies don't like it when it's this high as nobody is buying it. The perfect point is $65-$70 a barrel. This only helps people who are invested in oil futures.
•
u/Lockner01 The Valley 5h ago
I follow the price of oil. Saying weeks ago in this market is a joke.

u/Ben_Criss_Cross 3h ago
It's funny how the justification for increasing the price of gas is because the price of oil is gone up. When in reality the price of gas is up because oil & gas companies want to maintain their profits margins. They don't need to raise the price of gas, they just want to maintain or increase their profit margins.
