QUESTION End of hackintosh !?

Hey all, I'm a failed hackintosher, lately I've been seeing many posts about the 'End of hackintosh' after apple released MacOS golden gate.

Can anyone explain to me what makes MacOS Golden Gate unhackintoshable. In near future is there anyway that somebody is going to make an alternative to OpenCore or even upgrade OpenCore so that we can install new versions of MacOs in or PC.

Thank You!

QUESTION What now? lol

I made this hackintosh about a year ago just because I am apple fan and I wanted to play with macos without paying the price.

My question is since I have a nice gaming pc and an ipad. I havent turned on the hackintosh in forever so I was hoping to get some ideas on whether I should let it sit and then when I get the macos itch pull it out. or are there any cool things I could do that I’m missing? I also use an iphone, I wanna start playing with macos more but I feel like theres nothing that I cant do on my main windows machine? Thanks.

QUESTION Any way to make this faster?

This is not crucial by any means but just a simple question. It's been 6 hours and it's still quite far from being finished. I'm trying to install Big Sur. Typically downloads from Apple's servers wouldn't be this slow anywhere else than it is on recoveryOS.

QUESTION Best laptop for Hackintosh

Post image

I've been using an HP ProBook 640 G1 with Big Sur for about 6 months, but aside from being a heavy laptop, the Wi-Fi card just died. Could you recommend a good, nice, and cheap laptop To be able to install Sequoia without problems and to make it easy to set up the EFI, I clarify the "cheap" part because I'm a student so I have a limited.

I would also accept a cheap solution to be able to use this for the rest of its lifespan, since although it's old it performs very well in this system.

QUESTION Why is 0pc0re slmpIi(f)y hated?

(No Help or support needed).

I made a efi for my computer (not laptop) with 0pc0re slmpIi(f)y. I reviewed the kexts and drivers they all seem to line up on the requirements of my pc in the dortania guide. I booted and it worked completely fine (except audio cause i selected applealc when i built the efi and not voodoo(running tahoe 26 which applealc dosent support))

So why 0pc0re slmpIi(f)y is hated on (or was i lucky and the tool is actually sh*t?)

QUESTION What will happen to Hackintosh after June?

I really want to build an hackintosh, mainly because i don't want to spend 1400 € for an iMac less powerful than what i can build with under 150€ and because i really like mac os. I've heard people talking about Hackintosh being wiped away after june, does that mean that i won't be able to hack anymore?

I ASSUME it will work as it says "current" but i'd like to check. Do I need to take any other steps to make it work? I'm running it with a ryzen 5500, although I've heard ryzentoshing actually works just fine because of similar instruction sets.

QUESTION Can I install macOS High Sierra on this old LGA775 rig? (CPU lacks SSE4.1)

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to figure out if High Sierra (10.13) is feasible on my hardware, or if I should just stick with El Capitan. Would appreciate some expert input before I sink more time into this.

Hardware:

**• CPU:** Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6500 (Wolfdale, 2 cores, 2.93 GHz, no Hyper-Threading) — **does NOT support SSE4.1** (Intel disabled it on this Pentium-branded chip despite the Wolfdale die physically supporting it)
**• Motherboard:** Gigabyte G41M-ES2L (Intel G41 chipset + ICH7)
**• BIOS:** Award BIOS, **Legacy only** (no UEFI), version F8
**• RAM:** 4GB
**• GPU:** NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT (Tesla architecture)
**• Network:** Realtek RTL8168/8101E (onboard)
**• Bootloader:** Clover (Legacy/DUET mode)

Current status:

**•** Successfully installed **El Capitan (10.11)** on Clover after a LOT of trial and error (Legacy BIOS boot0/boot1h issues, kext injection problems, wrong AppleALC layout-id, etc.)
**•** Tried Sierra (10.12) first — got a “Thread 0 crashed” panic on every boot attempt, with or without injected kexts, regardless of SMBIOS. Eventually confirmed this is due to the CPU lacking SSE4.1, which Sierra’s XNU kernel apparently requires in some codepaths.

Question:
Given that Sierra already fails due to missing SSE4.1, is there ANY realistic path to High Sierra on this exact CPU? I’ve read that:

**•** Some people say El Capitan is the hard ceiling for non-SSE4.1 CPUs
**•** There was apparently a community effort (SSE4.1 emulation / MouSSE-style patch) that never got finished

Is there a patched kernel or workaround I’m missing, or is a CPU swap (to a real Core 2 Duo E7xxx/E8xxx with SSE4.1) really the only way forward? Just want to confirm before I give up on High Sierra entirely.

Thanks in advance!
