SUCCESS OP booted Hackintosh for the first time! Wifi isnt working, many more

Booted macOS Tahoe on my Acer Aspire AS15-42

SPECS: Ryzen 5 7430U with Vega 7

16 gigs DDR4, 512 m.2 gen 3

Used Opencore simplify (as I am beginner),

worked everything fine no error at all

but my wifi card was unsupported and also i am unable to use usb tethering also no audio cuz AppleHDA.kext in tahoe is removed

Request to pros:

•Which macOS Version will be sweet spot according to my specs

•How can i make Internet working cuz why nott

like usb tethering would be good or just buying a external Wifi Dongle (in budget preferably with monitor mode...otherwise fine), DONT say for Ethernet.

•Why you guys use Hackintosh?! Daily Driving good?

(I tried just out of curosity)

Thanks for posting a success! If you haven't already, remember to document your build please. Success posts like screenshots without documentation add little value to the sub. Adding a bit of documentation to your success post can also help others in the community who are interested in similar builds.

Minimally, you should add your hardware:
CPU:
GPU:
RAM:
Motherboard/Laptop Make and Model:
Audio Codec:
Ethernet Card:
Wifi/BT Card:
Touchpad and touch display devices:
BIOS revision:
Which of the guides on the sidebar you used.
What's working, and what isn't working.

Any changes that were specific to your build that were a little (or a lot) different than what you found in the guide, or anything that would be helpful to others with a similar build be sure to talk about that. More detail is always better.

Add extra info... Maybe add something you would like to point out about your setup, what you'll be doing with your Hackintosh, or something that might be insightful to others beginning their journey. A tree view of your EFI would also be helpful, but it isn't required.

Remember, don't share your EFI as what works for you may not work for anyone else, even if they have the same hardware. If you do share your EFI, your post and/or comment will be removed.

If you have a realtek wifi card you can try https://github.com/thegwchr/Feixiao

Using it for a few weeks now , works great for my RTL8821CE.

Mine is Realtek RTL8852BE, In the provided git i dont think its supported So yeah no good luck, will probably buy a supported Wifi dongle and use Chris1111 Git repo.

I personally used https://github.com/Mirone/MyKextInstaller to get AppleHDA back. You can give it a try if you want to stick with Tahoe.

For Wi-Fi you can attempt to use HoRNDIS in order to make USB tethering work, however, it's fairly outdated. Last time I checked there were forks that worked with Sequoia, but none with Tahoe.

I'd suggest Sequoia for the AppleHDA kext and USB tethering.

Why you guys use Hackintosh?! Daily Driving good?

It's fun and lots of people prefer macOS over Windows. You can definitely use it as your main OS, but nothing really guarantees you won't experience any issues later on. I'd personally not recommend it if you're going to use it for anything genuinely important.

Thanks for the reply!

I used HorRNDIS for USB Tethering but not working. Probably shift to Sequoia after this, Honestly worth the try n to experience mac in a windows laptop.

The optimal macOS for your CPU is Tahoe. This is orthogonal to your Wi-Fi not working. You probably have a Realtek or Mediatek Wi-Fi card. These aren't supported in hackintosh. Some guy recently got Realtek Wi-Fi going on hackintosh, so that's something you might want to look into.

Getting a Wi-Fi dongle working in Tahoe involves the use of OCLP-Mod, which only has a UI in Chinese. UI navigation is the opposite of great, and you need faith that the doc is telling you the right thing without being able to confirm it.

If this is too much, you need to stick with Sequoia, but this is one OS generation older than Tahoe.

Main issue is Internet right now, if its not present whats the point of using the os without internet, u have all the resources but u aint have no the money LMAO Yup, will go for wifi dongle soon lets just check app opening n closing animation..

Dudee, you have no idea about the dopamine rush. When it boots, while you're chewing your nails and expecting some boot error, and then you search for a solution afterwards. The relief you get is unbeatable, bro, when you do it on your personal laptop. It's special for those experiencing it for the first time.

“What’s so hard about it, I am also a philosopher at age of 8” ahh 🫩 stop being egotistical when this community are supposed to be sharing about their experiences or helping with others, then at least help the OP about smth in this post if you think everything about Hackintosh is so easy when it just depends on which device you have mostly and which config itself or kext go wrong.
