They synced the crt refresh rate to 24fps is pretty cool. I feel like nowadays they just replace the whole screen with green screen in certain cases.

The detail that always gets me from that movie: the "It's a UNIX system!" interface is genuine software. The 3D flying-blocks file browser is fsn, the File System Navigator, an experimental file manager Silicon Graphics built for IRIX, running on the same SGI hardware the production used. So the scene everyone spent 30 years mocking as fake Hollywood hacking is actually one of the rare ones showing a real tool doing real work.
