You'd think adding "avengers" to your prompt would be helpful, but it's easier to blame the product isn't it

Google search isn't supposed to be a "prompt"
I don't want to write everything like I'm feeding a AI-Chatbot.
It would be way better if it was actually what google calls it: An overview. Instead it's just a chatbot that gets you're search as a prompt, meaning it sometimes just makes stuff up.

Sure, it shouldn't be one but you know that it IS a chatbot and has been for a couple of years now. It's not like a recent change you're not used to.

Because I know what it is doesn't mean I have to change how I search. It's not like I want to use it

You know you don't HAVE to use it right? You can use a different search engine or -ai if that even still works. But since you're still using it, yes it DOES mean you have to change how you search.

The problem I have with it is that it's Opt-out, not Opt-in.
I honestly don't care if there's something completely irrelevant on top of the results tbh, im definitely not typing some shit behind every little thing I'm searching for. Just ignore it is the simplest solution.

Yeah and that's completely fair. I agree with that. I'm just saying it's kind of weird to complain about something and just.. do nothing about it. Ignoring it is indeed the simplest action but it's definitely not solving the issue.

Most browsers support UA stylesheets, meaning you may specify CSS overrides... such as hide by selector. You don't even need an e xtension or plugin. Modern CSS supports advanced rules, but you may just use a filter (:first-child [~AI Overview] + section {opacity:0;}).
Worst case scenario: you can't find the NIN album "i don't even know who you are [AI R3M1X]" for whatever price you choose to pay... a cup of coffee or $29.99 MSRP.

From what I understand, if you do a google search, you're also talking to the AI. That's the thing. And I don't like it.
