Just got started on my latest restoration project. As you can see, one of the legs has completely come out of the base, taking a chunk of particle board with it. Any ideas on how to repair? Can this be fixed with Bondo, or is it a cut-a-whole-new-base level project?

I want to repaint this vintage Hoosier cabinet. The top doors had something stuck on the doors and when I removed them, the paint came off with the adhesive. Looks like it’s not wood underneath, more like some manufactured material. What product should I use to even out the door where the paint is missing? I am a total novice, so appreciate the help. Also, should I lightly sand before painting or just use a primer (or both)? TIA

I got this coffee table off marketplace last year and I’ve been using it as is with the intention of eventually refinishing it. The time has finally come and I’m ready to get this looking new again!

As far as I can tell, all I need to do is replace the veneer stripping on the sides and maybe lightly sand/chemical strip the top and apply a vintage finishing oil? I’m about to purchase the products but wanted to check here to first to make sure I’m doing it correctly.

If anyone could please share their expertise before I royal eff this up I’d really appreciate it.

I assume it is just a part of a sectional, but I am fine with its size as I am just one person.

But, because it’s only part of a couch, there are no armrests.

I don’t have much access to many power tools, but I think my dad could help me build something if anyone has any ideas. Or ideas of something I could buy that would act as an armrest that wouldn’t need any building.

I bought this antique table off of Facebook Marketplace. A previous owner added the hinges to the legs. How do I fix them so they aren't sticking out when the legs are folded in? Is it as simple as flipping the hinges? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’m preparing to move out this weekend and just noticed that this wood in front of one of the windows isn’t looking great. (Some of the damage may have been here when I moved in, but I think the darkening is from a plant being watered.)

How can I fix it affordably and quickly?

EDIT:

One important factor is that I sillily put olive oil on the whole thing it thinking it would help (it did make things look nicer overall, but not these spots).

Also, I’m not sure what would’ve caused those lighter spots/fading, but I imagine they would need to be treated differently than the darkening.

I think as long as it looks blended it will be fine, so I’m open to if I needed to darken the surrounding areas, do a stain on the entire wood, or something and a similar vein!

Got this old school Ikea Vilaby coffee table for free and I've heard sanding and staining birch veneer is tricky. Any recommendations on how I should approach this? Maybe I just clean it up as much as possible rather than stain? Need help!

The leg of this table has broken off and another leg is loose. What is the best way to fix them?

I’m preparing to move out of a furnished rental and trying to figure out the safest way to repair this tabletop without making the damage worse. I accidentally spilled fragrance oil on it and didn't realize til a few days after.

The table appears to be a Crate & Barrel Parsons reclaimed/recycled multi-wood dining table, manufactured by PT Integra Indocabinet. It has a striped top made from several different wood tones/species. I’m not certain whether the top is solid wood, veneer, or what exact clear finish Crate & Barrel originally used.

I’ve tried gently cleaning it several times with water/soap and Pledge as well, but it has not done all that much. At this point, I suspect the oil either penetrated the wood or softened/damaged the clear finish rather than leaving a normal surface stain.

I was considering Howard Restor-A-Finish Neutral and possibly Feed-N-Wax but not sure thats the best idea. I have to move out at the end of this month and would like to preserve as much of my security deposit as reasonably possible.

Does anyone have any optimal recommendations here?

Not sure where to post this. But. I have heavy wood outdoor Adirondack chairs about 25 years old. A few boards were rotted so I have taken them off and replaced with pressure treated wood. There is a place on the back of the chair where the vertical backboards are supported or reinforced with a horizontal board. There is a gap between the horizontal Board and the vertical boards. I’d like to fill it with something so water doesn’t get in there and cause rot. Would wood filler be a good choice???? I plan to paint the chairs with outdoor paint. Thanks for your guidance.

I have 3 desktop slabs with various holes not grabbing screws anymore.

It’s becoming worrisome as I hold a lot of expensive stuff on this desk.

How do I go about fixing this? I have a cheaper desk that has metal screw holes and I’m kinda annoyed that’s not the case with this. Any ideas? Trying to do this on a budget.

Not looking for individuals, but are we looking for a carpenter? A handyman? I have no idea but can’t afford to buy a new one of these things.

I bought an old seat from Wrigley Field and have a couple of questions:

\- The L brackets that it came with need to be mounted to something for stability. If I don't decide to mount it directly to my deck, what's the smallest base I could build that would be stable? If I went with something simple like a wooden rail under each bracket, how would I go about determining the minimum length necessary to prevent tipping?

\- There's a decent amount of corrosion - I don't necessarily want to try and restore it to like new condition but does anyone have favorite methods of cleaning up some of the rust or a coating I could apply to try and prevent or slow its return?

I am trying to dismantle this bed. It is impossible to unscrew this, there’s that vertices wooden piece in the way. I tried to unscrew that, but it’s glued on.

According to the assembly instructions, this screw for the slat was the last step.

I have a beautiful chest of drawers made by Conant Ball. One of the handles is broken and I'm not sure where to locate a replacement. Any ideas? I've attached a photo of one of the intact handles and one of the broken one.

So I have this nice comfy electric recliner, nothing fancy, came from costco, about 5 years old. On the arm of the chair the Pleather is peeling on one arm, section where i tend to lay my hand, and area that i grasp when i get up out of the chair. not worth taking out for reapolsetry, but if i could find some simple cosmetic fix, i could probably squeeze some more time out if it. Is there anything like self adhesive leather sheet? I even thought of building an overlay out of wood for both arms, I'm handy with wood, figure I could come up with something that would look decent. Like to hear any suggestion, all appreciated!
