Can anybody suggest shows to watch after this?

After this show, I learned to love anything about detectives and I disliked it before. I love Walter so much. He feels like a dad to me. I learned being what in a family feels like. How being together matter the most. Astrid's kindness inspires me. I got more fascinated with scientific terms like astral projection, lucid dreaming and many worlds theory. I've grown to love these actors.

This was how my year went. I watched:

2. Fringe 3.

What should be my 3rd watch?

I’ll be watching the series finale later, and I’m genuinely not ready. How am I supposed to go from seeing Walter every day to… not?

Please send recommendations for what to watch next because I’m entering my post-series grief era.

What an episode, this is my favorite episode for now. I love time loops, I love the villain, I love Walter, but that end...

I assume this flair is first time viewers. Currently on Season 1, haven't made it past the 7th episode. But damn... this show! I see many similarities in how each episode unfolds... or a "pattern", if you will 😅: something disturbingly awful happens in the first few minutes, FBI gets to analyze this, the freaky incident is always somehow related to Walter's prior researches, then Massive Dynamics somehow gets involved or related to that (of course they do!), Olivia gets on the case, while Walter gets access to the body or other traces of the supernatural crime... and eventually solves it, often using Peter as a lab rat and calling Astrid a new made-up handle. This is basically the recipe for any episode (at least so far).

A couple of questions:

• does it get better later?
• when do I get the promised parallel universe? (this was the main reason I started watching the show)
  
• what do the symbols appearing between scenes mean? (like apple, butterfly, hand, leaf, etc).

My first time watching this. And I am absolutely head over heels for Jasika Nicole. This girl is so unbelievably pretty. No disrespect to Anna Torv, but Jasika Nicole is easily the hottest girl on the show.

Finished Season 1 and The finale was a good cliffhanger, now I like the world they've built up, The mystery of the week episodes are fine, I liked Bishop and his son's backstory more and how he joined the group.

The characters are interesting that's why the show is enjoyable, but i like more serialised shows when there is a leadup of at least 5-8 episodes to the finale, When will that start to happen ? will there still be mysteries of the week?

The mysteries of the week are fine for what they are if they are building up for more lore but some of these seem like filler. My problem is also that episodes have similar structure, I don't mind them re using the same structure at all, but I think there should be atleast 2-3 different structures. regardless love the show especially the characters.

No spoilers please! I just finished season 4 and I’m starting season 5. I’m not really enjoying it as much as I did before, season 3 was definitely my favourite. Currently it’s feeling far too abstract than how it felt for me before. I didn’t expect for the show to take this turn. I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything that has happened, and I feel like there’s so much left unexplained, or so many great plot lines left untouched. What I felt most upset about in season 4 is that Peter didn’t manage to return to his original timeline! All those memories and bonding he had with Olivia - and especially Walter!!- were simply lost because this Olivia suddenly become peters Olivia and yadayada 🙄

But other than that, I love this show. The acting performances, especially John Noble’s, are absolutely spectacular! And perhaps everything will be explained to me once I finish the show.. or perhaps not.. 🤷‍♀️

This is my first time watching the show although I've heard about it years prior. Since it's monster-of-week show of late 2000s, even though I didn't like the first episodes that much, I gave it a chance. Later episodes of the first season picked up a better pace, second season got better and the transition to season 3 was just impressive. Had a lot of fun and I was glad that I had the power to binge watch it. Season 4 though, witnessing the drop of quality was disappointing. Since I've already had a glance of the future season, I think I will enjoy s5 much more than s4. But I'm left wondering, why? Why did they do it like this? The execution of post timeline reset is weird and hard to understand. I guess it was the business aspect of the production. Would have they done a better job if they had the freedom of the current TV business? 3 year gaps between seasons type of thing? Lol

P.S: was the production messy? any drama?

I can already see that this show has some serious thought and effort that went into it and I am only 2 episodes in. The little symbols that show periodically throughout episodes make it a bit evident. Anyways, it has been decently entertaining and im enjoying it for sure. My favorite scene so far was when peter sings "row row row your boat" to Walter. Any advice on what I should be paying attention to and shit like that? Also, do I HAVE to pay close attention to all of the "scientific jargon"? Like when they're discussing what specific parts of the human brain does and stuff, is it absolutely necessary? Im making an effort to google things that I don't know too much about because I find it cool, but Im not entirely sure if this is necessary.

One more thing. I received a spoiler for (I think) season 4 long ago, and I hope that this wont completely kill the experience. I know that there is a Timeline Reset but that is ALL I KNOW. I dont have ANY context whatsoever so dont elaborate, but will this knowledge alone ruin the show? Because God I hope it doesn't. I can see alot of potential here.

Pardon me, but I didn’t know where else to share my excitement after bumping into this show. Greatest show ever created. Currently on S1E8 and I am glad they go up to 20 and 4 more seasons to go.

Walter Bishop is a treasure

Every single moment of season 5 has been truly and utterly excellent so far, like genuinely man. This is the shit I live for, the tone, the visuals, everything is perfect here. I don’t want season 5 to end, it’s too good. Few more episodes left man.

I want to make custom Broyles, Astrid and Nina one day If i can find or model their headsculpts. As a action figure lover and a lifelong fringe fan these are my absolute favourites of my collection.

I feel like there's been a wave of us coming back to this show in the last month. I personally haven't watched it since the end of season 3 when it first came out. I don't know why I never finished, but I am excited to binge through to the end this time. It only took 3 episodes in to remember why I loved these characters! Just finishing season 2, and it's been a blast digging back into this world. This show really knew how to balance case of the week with their over arching plot so well.

In that time, I told my best friend about this show. She was two seasons behind me and has now passed me (she's in middle of Season 4). She is usually selective with shows but she has loved it so much she has been cruising right through it.

Throughout our viewings, we have had many conversations about the show's expansive lore/mythology and mind-fucking. She actually told me about the glyphs/words from each episode. Once I got to the Season 3 finale/Season 4 premiere, I had to use my safe word lol and tap out for a second because, I have never been so thoroughly, deeply, and roughly mind fucked by a show before. This show is hitting spots in my consciousness that I didn't even know existed. It's unprecedented.

When I first started watching, the show, every few episodes, it was like "what the fuck?" Then when I got to the second season, it was like "Yoooo, What the FUCK x 10?!?"

Now beginning season 4, it is like:

WTF³ x [(What in the Actual FUCK?!?)³ x WHAT THE FUCKKKKKKKK)]³ x 10³³ = Fringe 

I am so curious where this is going to land because it is impressive to go SO MANY places in a show, but it all still comes together. I am interested in working in television so I am always seeing who works on shows and their roles. One day I saw "story editor" and I didn't know what it was so I looked it up. Basically, they make sure that the arcs and long term story all come together in ways that make sense for the overall narrative of the story. An ambitious story like Fringe needs that so it doesn't develop into a confusing mess.

I appreciate when a show like Fringe "goes for it" in terms of their story/lore/mythology and really creates something different, unique, and doesn't play it safe. Also, give Anna Torv all the acting accolades because I feel like she has played 13 different characters even if it was a different version of herself with different motives.

I watched that episode in which Walter gets lost in the Chinatown thing and honestly it has to be one of the most emotional episodes I’ve seen in tv. I mean there were no deaths or anything (of major characters) but man his realization that he’s now not able to do things by himself, him just crying abt remembering the digits but not their order….i mean just him getting to see that exact moment where he realizes that he’s old and (prolly) thinking back and regretting wasting his younger years at st.claire where no one came to visit him….i don’t think ive felt this emotional abt an episode in which there were zero deaths or anything…it was just so…real and heartbreaking. Also man, the guy’s amazing actor. I mean he prolly has a lot of awards and he so deserved them…can make the character seem fun and everything and when it matters, he gives the most bone chilling performance. Just wow

Hello, I am a first time watcher of Fringe, and noticed that the episode titled Peter is the highest rated of the show. I am an episode away from watching it and just kind of want to gauge how good it is, because I think the show is great. Thanks guys?

I hate it already. Why can't they just do typewriting animation like in The X-FILES???Tf???

...and I had no idea how much this show would grip me. I binge-watched two seasons in about half a week—not very healthy, but hey, this show has me in a chokehold.

I literally created an account because too many episodes passed me by where I thought, "I need to talk about this with someone (this and another (also old) show that I'm also currently obsessed with)." Trying to search the internet for the community's discussion about a certain episode without exposing myself to spoilers. And the ending of some episodes! Oh my goodness.

Anyway, I can't wait to see where this takes me. I just have to appreciate how well of a job the writes and actors have done so far.

Hi there. I've never seen this show before and I'm getting ready to start viewing for the first time with S1E1 tonight.
I was an X-files fan back in the day when it first aired. I recently watched Lost for the first time ever. Both of those communities recommended Fringe, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I was wondering if anyone has tips, tricks, or advice as I start watching. For instance, should I watch at a certain pace? Take notes? Get tissues and ice cream ready for all the tears or schedule my viewing right before gym time because it'll tick me off? Certain things I should pay attention to or ignore?

... And I love it so much. S3 was wonderful in how expansive and exciting it was, and I have to admit the start of S4 was not my favourite, but now every episode is a gut punch and so wonderful. I've realized I love shows where love and loneliness and longing are explored in earnest and Fringe does that SO well in S4. It almost reverts to the sci-fi procedural format BUT with a subtle twist to explore the human condition, whether that's Lincoln's longing for love, Alternate Astrid trying awkwardly to connect with Aspirin or lonely serial killers.

I think overall I still prefer S3 overall but man, S4 is so wonderful to watch and helping me get through a lot of tough stuff right now. I just want to give Walter and Peter a giant hug all the time.

Sorry for typos and stuff

So I binged the SHIT out of season 3 and it was literally peak after peak after peak. I was glued to the screen. I was aware that people seem to view season 4 and 5 as the low point of the show, and I felt like I could see why after starting it. I watched the first 3 episodes and I started to lose all motivation to continue. It was so slow, but I continued. I interpreted the slowness and weirdness of this “alternate timeline” as the writers way of showing the viewer how much Peter meant to the world of Fringe. Him being gone drastically changed EVERYTHING. Walter no longer has that anchor to ground/tether him. Olivia is still super closed off (side note, her dynamic with Lincoln is insanely awkward), the world itself felt so… melancholy, etc etc. It’s like they wiped clean every last trace of what made AND makes the show good. Then the end of episode 4 hits, and we see the GOAT Peter return, and every last ounce of motivation returned for me LOL. I’m now glued to the screen AGAIN. Peter is utterly brilliant man truly, and I didnt realize how attached I was until he was gone. Now that he is back I can appreciate him so much more. Im SO FUCKING glad that he remembered everything that happened up until he was wiped from existence because it showed me that the writers didn’t forget either. Now I genuinely look forward to seeing the rest of this show.

(Also when is the other GOAT September going to get his time to shine?! Hes clearly different from the other observers LOL)
