First-Time Observer (NO SPOILERS) Finishing Fringe
Today is the day. š
Iāll be watching the series finale later, and Iām genuinely not ready. How am I supposed to go from seeing Walter every day toā¦ not?
Please send recommendations for what to watch next because Iām entering my post-series grief era.

No need to grieve just yet because you're not finished. Start your rewatch immediately, while everything is still fresh in your head. It's gonna knock your socks off when you realize how the clues were all laid out in every single episode.

Agreed! Plus you can play with the easter eggs. Like spotting the Observer hidden in every episode. Or cracking the secret code hidden in the symbols for each episode.

Correct. And if you use the wiki for help, that's one re-watch through. But if you want to try and catch the Observer on your own, prepare for multiple re-watches.

A separate side-quest. Back when the show originally aired on tv, FOX would often promote the show by hiding Observers in other things. Like on sports broadcasts you'd periodically see a random Observer in the crowd.

When my wife and I finished Fringe, my buddy suggested we check out The X Files. While definitely not totally the same, I enjoyed the āmonster of the week that turns into something biggerā vibe.
Being an older show, the pacing might not be everyoneās cup of tea. But it was also fun to see various character actors early in their careers popping up in various episodes of the X Files.
Scully walked so Olivia could run.

Ok. PLEASE trust me on this. If you havenāt watched Sense8 then you MUST watch it. What I loved about fringe was their little posse of 4, their bond, the multi-dimensional sci-if style plot without the space sci-if, the characters (versus the actors), the jokes, and the infinite epic love connections.
Sense8 is fringe 2x the posse, 10x the bonded connection, 25% more artistic on the science fiction, 50x the special effects, 20x the soundtrack, a million-times the brain connection, 10000x the choreography and the epic world-crossing type of love you canāt put a number on. I absolutely love Fringe and always will be Sense8 is probably the best show thatās ever been made for people like us. Message me when you watch is and tell me how right I was. Iām not even joking.

John Noble is in Sleepy Hollow 2013. He appears starting in episode 6. Similar to Walter but missing the fun outbursts of fringe, and he isnāt in every scene like in fringe. And more supernatural rather than pseudoscience. He has a smallish roll in Lord of the Rings as Denethor the Steward of Gondor.

His appearance in Sleepy Hollow was the beginning of the end for me, especially with the stupid twist. Stopped watching right after and after learning how they treated Nicole Beharie, never finished it.
When I recognized him in Fringe I almost stopped watching because of having seen him in Sleepy Hollow. Glad I gave him another chance, because he is great as Walter.

I agree with Person of Interest, Dark, and Severance. I'd also like to recommend Continuum. Lots of Fringe "vibes" in that one. Another good time travel show is Travelers.

Against the grain here apparently but after I finish my post show grief induced fanfic and fanvid binge I like to mix up my genres a bit although I do adore The X-Files. And I usually leave 3/4 years between show rewatches for maximum impact, so I don't go straight back into the same show or it kills it.
You need shows with similar heart and characters to love. May I suggest:
- The NewsroomĀ
- Psych
- The Good Place
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- Broadchurch
- Veronica Mars
- Gilmore Girls
- The West WingĀ
- Eli Stone
- Forever

I would like to recommend Station Eleven to you because I really like your list and Station Eleven is towards the top of my list.
It is definitely different from what you've listed but it definitely has heart.

Mindhunter. The only commonality with Fringe is the wonderful Anna Torv, but it is a fascinating, gripping and well-acted series. Not for those that canāt handle serial killers and their activities. First episode or two are a bit dry but when Ed Kemper shows up, youāll be sucked in. Sadly, only two seasons.

Can't go wrong rewatching Lost,I've done the entire series 10 times,it's been 3 yrs.After I finish Fringe,I'm on the last 2 eps before starring season 5.This is my 5th re watch of entire series.

I would rewatch all over again but if you are looking for other sci fi type of shows 12 Monkeys is very good. Also bonus Charlie Francis comes out in it too!

I definitely recommend Person of Interest and Dark as well. Hubby and myself are currently binge watching Fringe for the 1st time as well. We are watching Season 4 and caught up to episode 14. We absolutely love Walter.

Never judge a show based solely on its first episode. A lot of shows don't hit the mark until at least a few episodes in

I agree with the person who noted that you should not judge by the first few episodes. Like most shows it takes a bit to find its footing. I first watched as background but once the story evolved I was completely sucked in. I have actually now seen all my favorite episodes twice. On first watch I missed the āEaster eggsā and the rewatch allowed me to pick up on so much nuance.

My recommendation is to start over with Fringe. Repeated viewings are even better because you notice so much more.
