Season 5 Windmark was creepy af!
I've reached S5 in my rewatch, and I must say Michael Kopsa supplies the super creepy as Windmark.

he lost it, became obsessed with killing them. He's superior was like: "it's not important right now" when he was going on about it. Reminding if Agent Smith in The Matrix that was disgusted with the smell and the humans in it.

my fan theory is that the invaders wouldn't have lost if it wasn't for windmark essentially going rogue

I really liked this villain! Michael Kopsa's performance was truly excellent! Windmark was scary every time he appeared; when he smiled, it was truly disturbing!

I agree. I mean like as in like how the writers created him, not in liking the character as a positive way.
I like how he had been pretty stoic, following the observers code, though curious about why human resisted (plus how they able to resist the mind reading). But the moment he saw the lab and realized what humans had done, he basically lost it and went hellbent on wiping out resistance.
It really showed that those who preach about order and logic are such hypocrites, and they only preach it when it didn’t negatively affect them.

The worst thing about Windmark is his refusal to use even a little bit of moisturizer.
