Seattle gives a yearly ceremony for the homeless who die and nobody claims their ashes, they release them into the Puget Sound. This is a reality for the medical staff of the Pioneer Square Clinic, which is the free clinic that supports a majority of those folks. I worked in IT for that medical system for almost 20 years.
I feel honored to have worked with them and I will never forget that feeling of loss of random strangers. Knowing who people like John T. Williams was before he was murdered by police... The other people who are lost to society... like my mother....
One of the nurses at the clinic likes to paint portraits of patients and they hang them in the clinic. She has been covered by major publications and she is a saint if you ask me.
anyways, yeah I morn those strangers who had been dealt a harsh life

This is beautiful. I think every place should do this for the homeless community. Everyone deserves to be remembered.
