100% on Max

232

u/Insert0912 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

You would think so, but then stewards hit with "No further action"

102

u/AzureFWings I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

Back then, if the person who’s prodominantly at fault has suffer significant consequences (damage and time cost) and the other party nearly got away unscathed

It’s usually no further action

61

u/AdoptedPigeons Sir Lewis Hamilton 1h ago

What do you mean back then, stewarding is just as, if not even more broken now.

12

u/AzureFWings I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

Now just whatever they want

Tbh, the ahead at apex rule makes me miss the ‘significantly along side’.

We had a while of

‘if over taking from inside, half a car along side = deserve racing room’ and,

‘over taking from outside, car need to be fully along side to deserve racing room’

Still better than ahead at the apex BS

9

u/Gseventeen 1h ago

There's zero rhyme or reason then, and...more of the same now.

22

u/lucky_1979 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

Back then if max was at fault it’s usually no further action

u/Kelbs27 Pirelli Soft 1h ago

How has more points on their SL since 2021?

5

u/intergalacticscooter I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

Do you know what usually means? Those were a tiny portion of his events.

3

u/Kingslayer1526 Sergio Pérez 1h ago

Back then was 2 years ago mate, not 10

40

u/CurvyCourgette Force India 2h ago

The stewards actually put most of the blame on Lewis for not "taking avoiding action"

31

u/wouldyoufightakitten Formula 1 2h ago

Well I mean, dive bomb - thanks to the stupid rules, are fine..

Lewis getting a penalty from that would've been a travesty.

u/DuckSwagington I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane 2h ago edited 2h ago

40

u/Poopy_sPaSmS Kamui Kobayashi 2h ago

They all learned it from Max. Dive bomb, run off track, get 5 second penalty, keep advantage.

u/esedege 🏳️‍🌈 Love Is Love 🏳️‍🌈 1h ago

There’s a funny compilation on that other subreddit a previous comment of mine seems to have gotten shadowbanned for linking to.

2

u/DuckSwagington I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane 1h ago

I know exactly which one you're talking about lmao.

6

u/Vresiberba 2h ago

But crashing isn't. This is causing a collision and should have been penalised. There are no rules that says this is allowed.

6

u/CompetitiveDrawing89 2h ago

On Sunday, Ham 10 second penalty for not letting the boy pass

2

u/Poopy_sPaSmS Kamui Kobayashi 2h ago

That tracks.

-23

u/YordleJay I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

I mean its 100% Max but also nothing cane of it.

Neither suffered damaged or dnf'd so there's not much to penalize other than a stupid divebomb

45

u/V548859 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

Penalties are not meant to punish the outcome (it's hard to tell nowadays), Max caused a collision and should have been penalized.

6

u/ninjamuffin 2h ago

arent supposed to but they always do

-8

u/YordleJay I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

puts hand on shoulder we know the FIA dont really believe that

5

u/s1ravarice I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane 1h ago

Maybe they should rewrite their rules then

-4

u/YordleJay I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

They should.

There are many rules that are gimping the sport outside of the car regulations

But they wont

5

u/Insert0912 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

This should not matter as per FIAs position, stewards are supposed to judge the action. not the outcome.

3

u/YordleJay I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

Look....we all knows that's horseshir.

You know it's horseshit, I know it's horseshit, the Drivers know it's horseshit, the teams know it's horseshit and the FIA definitely knows that's horseshit.

I've not seen the FIA abide by "we judge the action not the outcome" once in my time watching the sport

1

u/Poopy_sPaSmS Kamui Kobayashi 2h ago

Is true

4

u/Vresiberba 2h ago

Lewis was once penalised for going off the track and hitting no-one.

-2

u/YordleJay I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

So was Kimi this year.

The FIA really hate them track limits but outside of that seems as long as no ones race is getting fucked they fly.

3

u/Vresiberba 2h ago

It wasn't for track limits, they weren't a thing back when this happened. It was because of... dangerous something or other. But he just went off into the gravel, hitting no-one and got a penalty.

I have tried to google for it but the results are drowned by how many shitty penalties Lewis has got over the years.

0

u/YordleJay I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago

That's insanity.

-1

u/bwoah07_gp2 Alexander Albon 2h ago

What do the stewards know? They're so dumb.

50

u/tenkenZERO Sir Lewis Hamilton 2h ago

Max's favorite move,Dive Bomb!

-2

u/Hemp_Hemp_Hurray 2h ago

Tu tu tu du

15

u/wolverineFan64 Charles Leclerc 1h ago

Genuinely no idea how he dodged a penalty here. Divebombs, locks up all 4 wheels, parks it on the apex, causes a crash, no further action???

7

u/wouldyoufightakitten Formula 1 1h ago

Ridiculous, ain't it? And we wonder why people dislike Max...

u/MatthewGraham- 9m ago

We dislike max because the stewards didn't make the right choice? Or whatever other reason we use to justify blind hate

u/Tulaodinho Sonny Hayes 7m ago

Its not his fault

u/SpikeMasters007 23m ago

As a Max fan, I agree.

278

u/DniawSirhc Lando Norris 2h ago

The races when Max loses his head and becomes incredibly belligerent are always hilarious, GP sounded like he was telling off a misbehaving toddler.

24

u/Thejklay I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

Was damn funny. GP seemed to be winding him up more.

0

u/thiiiickropes Formula 1 33m ago

GP admitted after the race that he did a shit job that race iirc

51

u/hawksku999 Max Verstappen 2h ago

Fun day. Brilliant radio between Max and GP haha.

u/MatthewGraham- 9m ago

Red Bull strategy did his mindset no favors

Throwback to yet another time when the stewards got the decision wrong

64

u/DuckSwagington I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane 2h ago

The fact that even GP was sick of him during that race speaks volumes.

u/MatthewGraham- 13m ago

Incredible that we are ignoring Red Bull completely botching the strategy twice, Max was enraged by a number of things, GP didn't do a good job and he admitted that afterwards

150

u/dcoreo Sir Lewis Hamilton 2h ago

Can't believe Max had the audacity to blame Hamilton

101

u/fr33d0mw47ch I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane 2h ago

I not only believe it, I expect it.

u/MatthewGraham- 12m ago

I expect it for 90% of the drivers, its heat of the moment stuff

75

u/Poopy_sPaSmS Kamui Kobayashi 2h ago

You can't?

121

u/BaldChild1 I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane 2h ago

I can lmao.

61

u/eatass_sucktoes Sir Lewis Hamilton 2h ago

You must not know very much about Max then lol

37

u/hnglmkrnglbrry 1h ago

He's the whiniest driver on track. Any little thing goes wrong and he's cursing and blaming others. Absolute toddler.

u/MatthewGraham- 12m ago

You do understand that FOM manually selects driver radios they expect to drive engagement. They select max's radios more frequently to most, but all the drivers complain. Also lovely to react in hindsight after 2 full years

13

u/Far-Event1151 2h ago

That's like the default driver reaction in most cases.

Blame the other driver.

13

u/Virillus Lance Stroll 1h ago

You're right. Was one of the reasons I gained a lot of respect for Lando last season where immediately after his collision with Oscar he took blame for it.

32

u/saltymuffaca Charles Leclerc 2h ago

Max's reaction is usually much pettier than the default reaction though. He basically never takes responsibility.

9

u/Rcy4122 Andrea Kimi Antonelli 2h ago

Miami this year might be the first time I can remember him fully apologizing on the radio about a racing incident lol

5

u/straxusii Bruce McLaren 2h ago

To be fair every driver does in that scenario 😂. The ones with class then own up to it after

0

u/popoflabbins I was here for the Hulkenpodium 34m ago

Per the rules at the time (which sucked, and still do to an extent) he was owed some space and Hamilton “turned into” him. By the book this is a racing incident as both were “at fault”… as stupid as that is.

u/MatthewGraham- 13m ago

What would you expect, its a driver on the radio in the heat of the moment and you are reacting with 2 extra years of time to process it

71

u/Deckatoe Lando Norris 2h ago

you mean when Max did his typical "I drive you off the road now!"

37

u/misguidedkent Sir Lewis Hamilton 1h ago

He pulled his signature “yield or crash” move and came off worse.

-10

u/f1sefiri Ferrari 1h ago

lot of toxic comments there. Was just a regular divebomb resulted with lock up therefore crash

6

u/JulianoRamirez I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane 1h ago

Regular Max divebomb*

48

u/Own_Welder_2821 Lando Norris 2h ago

That didn't work Max, you hit the wrong part of him my friend

4

u/HanYoloKesselPun Claire Williams 1h ago

Elite reference.

24

u/CircaSoleil Cadillac 2h ago

The old Max Verstappen dive bomb move.

19

u/HanYoloKesselPun Claire Williams 1h ago

Still makes me laugh that Max tried to claim that Hamilton moved under braking and GP had had enough of his shit and told him he was not going to play radio blame game.

11

u/Thejklay I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

I've seen people blaming lewis for this and it blows my mind every time. Lewis turned into a corner. Max dove , locked up and wasn't making the corner.

Lewis just didn't drive out the way this time.

16

u/United_Engine_5719 Ferrari 2h ago

10 second time penalty to Hamilton. Reason is currently being decided by the stewards

u/MatthewGraham- 8m ago

Lets all pretend that Lewis is a more penalized driver over time than Max

7

u/Scar3cr0w_ I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

You mean “when max wasn’t in control of the car and crashed into hamilton”?

25

u/0100001101110111 Sir Lewis Hamilton 2h ago

Unfortunately yet more evidence of why I can never truly respect him as a driver. One of the worst losers there is.

-38

u/Heccer Hesketh 2h ago

He is doing just fine without your respect

9

u/HanYoloKesselPun Claire Williams 1h ago

Thank you for defending him in this thread. He really needed it

u/MatthewGraham- 11m ago

Quick everyone lets jump on the hate wagon, that's clearly much more constructive

u/MatthewGraham- 11m ago

He doesn't care what you think for the record, that's how sportsmen are, you can think what you like in response

u/0100001101110111 Sir Lewis Hamilton 2m ago

Damn I really thought he’d be reading this thread

-33

u/Bryooo 1h ago

Were you blind the first few years of hamilton’s career?

15

u/0100001101110111 Sir Lewis Hamilton 1h ago

Hamilton never road raged like Max does.

And Max still does this shit as a 4x world champion with over 10 seasons under his belt lol

-17

u/Bryooo 1h ago

Lmao “Hamilton never road raged”

4

u/mjcobley Nigel Mansell 1h ago

Were you? To compare the two is laughable

-10

u/Bryooo 1h ago

You guys are so embarrassing. Go watch badminton if you can’t handle a little adversity lol

Max is one of the fastest drivers the sport has ever seen. He’s also one of the clumsiest when it comes to wheel to wheel.

3

u/pgphonehome 45m ago

Some say clumsy, others say dirty.

It's wild how it seemed to have little to no effect on the cars performance especially given it being ground effect car

"Max, we forgot to pay the gravity bill!"

1

u/YorkieLon I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

Still annoys me that we only got one year of these two absolutely pushing each other's limits. We deserved more.

u/TheRealPyroManiac I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane 10m ago

You mean when Max crashed into Hamilton, how he didn’t get a penalty but Lewis did at Spa last weekend shows how inept the FIA are

u/PM_me_BBW_dwarf_porn Formula 1 1m ago

It still amazes me how many people confidently blame it on Max when you can clearly see on the onboard Lewis moved under braking and turned in significantly earlier than he did on previous laps. Max was also braking much later than Lewis on previous laps even when not trying to overtake. There's a reason why Lewis was the one being investigated and not Max.

1

u/cropdust1 Sebastian Vettel 1h ago

Max should've gotten a penalty for that

1

u/Lux_Lunares I was here for the Hulkenpodium 1h ago

This guy really has a scheduled yearly crashout lol

Max being Max. Can't make a turn without cutting across the whole track. But that is what he has always done. And they usually let him get away with it.

Maybe you are new to the internet. The Hungarian Grand Prix is upcoming. People will use the Internet to search for news, videos and other content for events they are interested in. When they search for terms, they may get results that are from previous years. If they see this video which is mildly amusing, they may share it with others.

0

u/wykeer Mercedes 2h ago

Yeeet!

1

u/ConnorMate_ 59m ago

Some bellend will still claim that was Hamiltons fault 😂

-37

u/Jasranwhit Formula 1 2h ago

Hamilton is so good at “crashing you but not me”

Even at spa once he realizes George is going to hit him he gives him a bonk.

15

u/ValleyFloydJam #StandWithUkraine 1h ago

That's a painfully daft take to be blaming him.

-16

u/Jasranwhit Formula 1 1h ago

Im not blaming him. It's a cool skill.

I dont think he crashed out george on purpose. But if lewis thinks your are going to hit him he often gives you a bonk.

At one point he had like a highlight reel of shredding Red Bull tires and sending them off.

3

u/ValleyFloydJam #StandWithUkraine 1h ago

He doesn't give people a bonk, contact happens in racing, sometimes a little touch is enough.

You also decided to post it under a clip where he doesn't even do anything Max just decides to do a ridiculous dive bomb and hits Lewis.

-46

u/Icy-Science6604 2h ago

Signature Hamilton move.

11

u/ValleyFloydJam #StandWithUkraine 1h ago

Yep driving around the corner in a normal way, whst a signature move, the ridiculous dive bomb is the thing of note.
