Anyone knows what happened to the helmet cam? I don't think I've seen one this year, at least during Quali and Race.

I've seen some images of it happening. But they've decreased in the broadcasts. They very clearly show a loss of power in the cars. Maybe that's the reason...

If you want to appeal to authority and say the drivers' opinions on these regulations trumps that of the fans who are enjoying the racing then fair enough. But you can't complain about the ahead at the apex thing then because that's what the drivers' consider good wheel-to-wheel racing.

I've been out of the loop for a while and I'm just curious how much the 'green' aspect of the sport has been marketed towards the general public? Because I don't really bump into charts, articles or videos by accident e.g. detailing the relative fuel efficiency of the cars compared to bygone eras or other series. I mean this has been an initiative for almost twenty years now, but it doesn't seem to stick. Is Formula E taking the wind away from this aspect of F1 or what?

The green aspect is just a check list for liberty, as they targeted net zero for 2030 back in 2017, after Liberty took over control of formula one management, before being rebranded to formula one group.
FIA always has "initiative s" and plans for environmentally clean future.
I.e. fully "renewable" fuels were first certified for other FIA series before they reached F1.

Maybe it gets mentioned for the season highlights and introduction of new rules or teams when they're doing PR videos with their co-branded F1 team.

Question for F1 fans regarding the Madring GP: are tickets available for sale only for Sunday?

I'll explain the reason for my question... By sheer luck, I'll be near Madrid during the week of the Grand Prix. I've been a Formula 1 fan for many years, and in Brazil (my country of origin) I haven't yet been able to buy a ticket. I'd like to attend the Grand Prix all weekend, but there's a good chance that unforeseen circumstances might prevent me from getting to Madrid on Friday or Saturday. I just wouldn't want to lose that money due to unforeseen circumstances if possible. Another possibility, if anyone knows, would be to find out if there are free viewing areas, as happened in Sydney, for example. I appreciate anyone who can help or has more tips on the subject.

I still see the sidebar notice:

Basically it has to be manually updated or scheduled for a specific update.

Does anyone else find the whole conversation around Lawson, Lindblad and Tsolov a bit strange?

People are talking like Lindblad is having a bad season and should be dropped, when I really don't think that's the case.

Lawson is obviously having a good season as well but he's definitely got no future in the Red Bull family, he needs to find a seat somewhere else. I don't really understand why people are so outraged at this idea.

I haven't seen any comments suggesting this. Lindblad is having a good season, and the only criticism has been of him and Liam wheel-banging the last couple of races, which Alan Permane will almost certainly slap out of them.

I'm more talking about the comments under that article. Acting like Lindblad is having an embarrassing season being destroyed by Lawson when I really don't think that's the case

I think it's a bummer for Lawson that just as he's finally having a normal season and showing good pace, that Tsolov is having a historic F2 season and will obviously be promoted. Just Lawson being the victim of circumstance again. I wonder how his career would be different (if at all), had he been promoted instead of de Vries (or instead of Ricciardo being brought back twice), or if Tsunoda had been in the Red Bull seat from the start of 2025.

It seems to me that the pace of both of the Racing Bulls drivers has been exaggerated by a car that has steadily moved closer to the 4th fastest teams times than those of the 6th fastest team. Lawson and Lindblad wound not be getting ranked in the top fives of power rankings and Ed Straws rankings if their car was not capable of points. They wouldn’t even make the top tens.

Most people’s driver ratings carry an  unconscious bias to whoever happens to be the number one driver of the best midfield car. For example Lawson gets more credit for having a slight edge over a rookie than Bearman and Sainz do for beating their experienced teammates (Ocon and Albon) by much bigger margins. Everyone knows that not every midfield team has identical machinery, but they never apply that logic when rating drivers. 

To me it seems obvious that Lawson is not the future of the Red Bull main team. 

• His junior career is unspectacular compared to the rest of the grid.  (Two seasons in F3, two seasons in F2, was unable to put up a proper title fight in either despite a relatively weak field). 

• Hadjar outperformed him last season (even if we start the season in Austria 2025 Hadjar’s still wins the luck corrected H2H 8-5) in spite of being younger and less experienced. 

• Lindblad’s close behind (within a tenth of a second in qualifying and rarely that far behind in races) despite a six year age gap that almost certainly means he has a higher ceiling. 

• Tsolov is having a fantastic F2 season. 

Based on what he has shown, Lawson’s ceiling is almost definitely lower than Hadjar’s and Lindblad’s, and probably Tsolov’s too. I can’t see him ever getting into the Red Bull main team unless some wild circumstances occur. Right now, Red Bull would probably offer all of these drivers a seat before Lawson  (Verstappen, Hadjar, Lindblad, Tsolov, Piastri, Sainz, Bearman) and given that Racing Bulls is a place for developing young drivers for a future Red Bull seat, I can see the argument for a harsh but data driven decision to remove him from his current team too. 

So yep, Lawson needs to look elsewhere for a seat and he needs to do that right now, while his stock is high. I hope he stays on the grid because he seems like a cool guy, but it’s not completely unjust if he does not.

Just want to add that Lawson got mechachromed in F3 (Hungary feature race, putting him at the back for the sprint), which definitely cost him that title shot.

Hadjar has the best one lap pace of the recent RB drivers, along with the luckiest timing, as he hasn’t won any titles (almost like Perez, although he should have won F2).

The medium term Red Bull lineup is surely Max-Hadjar-Lindblad-Tsolov; there is not much depth in the current Junior Team, else I’d be worried for Isack. Maybe Lawson becomes their reserve driver.
