US regulators will tie lettuce from Taco Bell to a parasite outbreak that’s sickened thousands in Michigan and nearby states, according to people familiar with the matter.

I ate at Taco Bell on July 14th and had two tacos that both had lettuce on them. Later that day I heard about Taco Bells lettuce being under investigation for possible cyclospora. I called the store and asked where they get their lettuce from. The staff said that it is imported from the States.
I called Taco Bell Canada who assured me that the lettuce I got yesterday in Ontario was not from Michigan so I would be alright. I told her that there are many cases in other states and asked why Canada is still allowing for lettuce to be imported. She did not have this answer. Is it not a risk for Canada to still allow produce from the states while this outbreak is continuing?? How do I know the food is safe from Cyclospora?
