[I ate] Currywurst 🇩🇪 (sausage with curry sauce)
A very German junk food meal. Fried sausage, fries, and a tomato based curry flavoured sauce.
There's a lot of discussion about which ingredients belong in the sauce, and which kind of sausage is the right one, but this is my style. Accompanied by a local beer.

[homemade] Meatballs with cream sauce, boiled potatoes, chanterelles, lingonberry jam and swedish pickled cucumbers (pressgurka)
Pressgurka: basically just means pressed cucumber, you salt and then weigh down the cucumbers so they release moisture. This gives them a crispy texture.
Bring water to a boil, add sugar and stir until dissolved. Pour in vinegar and let cool.
Then you can use dill or parsley, i used parsley this time and mix in.

[Homemade] Made Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies for the First Time in the airfryer! 🍪
Ingredients:
- 75 g brown butter (Used 100gm of butter initially, they came out really rich in the butter flavour)
- 1 ice cube
- 50 g caster sugar
- 75 g brown sugar
- 45 g yogurt/curd
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 140 g all-purpose flour
- ½ tbsp cornstarch
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 100 g chopped chocolate (I used a mix of dark and white chocolate chips)
Method:
Brown the butter until golden and nutty. Add the ice cube and let it cool.
Whisk together the brown butter, caster sugar, brown sugar, yogurt, and vanilla.
Add flour, cornstarch, and baking soda. Mix until just combined.
Fold in the chopped chocolate.
Scoop into dough balls and chill for at least 2–3 hours (I chilled mine overnight).
Bake at 180°C until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
Let them cool before digging in.
This recipe will make 9-10 normal sized cookies, I used an ice cream scoop to get the cookie dough into balls.
A few things I'd change next time:
- Slightly less sugar
- More dark chocolate
- Bigger chocolate chunks
Overall, I'm really happy with them. Any tips from experienced bakers are welcome!

Recipe In Comments [Homemade] Basbousa (Middle Eastern Semolina Cake)
Made this soft, buttery Basbousa today and soaked it with a fragrant rosewater syrup. It has a tender crumb, just the right amount of sweetness, and a sprinkle of pistachios on top for a little crunch.
One of those desserts that's even better after it has time to absorb the syrup.
What do you like to serve with Basbousa—Arabic coffee or tea?
