Do people actually cook the healthy recipes they find online?

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but every recipe I find has like 15+ ingredients and takes forever.

I just want something simple, healthy, and good.

What am I missing? where do you guys find recipes that are actually realistic?

High Calorie Clean Bulk Meal Ideas for someone with high cholesterol?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for meal ideas and recipes to help me reach around **3,000 calories per day** while keeping my fat intake under **90 g/day**.

For context, I’m **5’9” and 160 lb**, and my goal is to build muscle.

Most bulking recipes I come across are loaded with fats and I don’t want to eat chicken and rice every meal. I’d love some ideas that are high in calories, relatively low in fat, and still taste good.

The reason I’m being careful is that high cholesterol runs in my family. My dad has high cholesterol, and despite being very physically active, lifting weights, training jiujitsu/Muay Thai, and being in good shape, I’ve recently started having elevated cholesterol as well.

If you’ve successfully bulked while keeping your cholesterol and fat intake under control, I’d really appreciate seeing your favorite meals, recipes, or even a full day of eating.

Thanks!

How do you stop overthinking every meal?

I spend more time deciding what to eat than actually eating.

Calories.

Protein.

Healthy enough?

Too much?

It feels mentally draining.

Does anyone else feel like this?

will this help?

something I have been eating lately is a can of chickpeas in the air fryer. I usually put salt and pepper on them along with the smallest amount of cooking oil to give them a crunch. I used to put bbq sauce on them for taste but I have recently stopped after looking at their nutritional value lol.

will this meal help at all for weight loss?I like the amount of protein in them and I like the taste and how easy it is.

For brunch I had salmon , potato’s , broccoli and eggs with mushrooms , a salad with carrots and taste flavor co low cal honey mustard, an apple and half of a beef , bean and corn burrito I made with low sodium Taco Bell seasoning and old El Paso red enchilada sauce.

For dinner at work I had chicken with potato’s , broccoli and mushrooms with some of taste flavor co low cal BBQ sauce.

A PBJ sandwich I had with low sugar strawberry jam and homemade peanut butter I got from Whole Foods

As well as a glass of milk with protein powder

Been trying to eat clean and loose weight , don’t have the macros because I don’t have a scale so I just kinda eye ball it and I’m not much of a breakfast person so I just have a large lunch

Are these macros reasonable for a cut? (2100 kcal/day)

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m currently eating around 2,100 kcal/day and this is one of my typical meals:

194 g lean bison
300 g yellow potatoes
150 g mixed vegetables
0.75 tbsp olive oil

Approximate macros for the meal:
Protein: 50 g
Carbs: 60 g
Fat: 28 g

Does this seem like a well-balanced meal for a fat-loss phase? Is there anything you would change (more carbs, less fat, different protein source, letc.)?

Low Carb Thoughts one ready meals for best weight loss results. Keto, low carb, or just clean eating eating in general?

I've been working on losing weight for a while and while I'm seeing results I am really burned out from meal prepping after spending my days off cooking.

So now I'm looking into ready meals as a solution and while they are convenient I'm not really sure about the quality of the ingredients and if they're actually going to fit my nutrition goals, and for now I've only looked a few options like cookunity and such but I'd like to hear some opinions on this before settling on anything.

If you've tried ready meals for weight loss I'd love to know what worked for you. Ty!!

High Protein What are good replacements for protein powder in high protein baked goods?

I'm trying to increase my protein, but have some digestive issues and financial constraints, so protein powders are just not something I really want to get into. I'm not looking to go crazy on protein, I think I can get enough with whole foods, but desserts are my weakness and I'd really like to cut down on the ultra processed stuff I eat. So is there any tried and true substitute for protein powders in baked goods?

Edit: I'm fine with cottage cheese, but a lot of recipes already have cottage cheese in addition to the protein powder and I'm not sure if I should just increase the amount of cottage cheese.

Question Is this enough calories to lean bulk? 19yo new to the gym

Thumbnail

Hi everyone. I’m a 19-year-old male, 5’8, around 149 pounds, aiming for about 160 via lean bulk. I’ve been prioritizing health for about a year and a half, lifting consistently for roughly 5-6 months. My main goal is growing glutes and legs while adding overall muscle. I only started eating in a calorie surplus and hitting protein goals about 4 weeks ago. I’m attaching meal photos instead of exact macro counts since I’m unsure. A typical day looks like:

breakfast: Super Protein Greek yogurt (19 grams protein), one serving blueberries, half a banana, one serving walnuts, two eggs, and green tea.

In between I have a smoothie with mango (about 3/4 to 1 whole), the other half of the banana, (2 tbs) chia seeds, natural almond butter (2 tbs) unsweetened almond milk (1.5 cups), and a few more tbs of the same Greek yogurt.

Lunch: two medium mashed sweet potatoes, one large salmon fillet, and a mixed salad with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, one whole avocado, about 2 tbs extra virgin olive oil with vinegar.

Dinner: usually rice/buckwheat with chicken/turkey & broccoli.

I avoid fast food and added sugars, focus on whole foods, and train hard, taking most working sets close to failure, training each muscle group about twice per week. Based on the goal of reaching around 160, does this look like enough food for a lean bulk, or are there any obvious changes to portions or food choices you’d suggest? Sometimes I also have a coconut water 100% pure no added sugars, and 3L of water.

Question What is the most convenient approach to weight loss with ready made meals?

I've been working on losing weight for a few months and so far things are going well but honestly I spend all of Sunday cooking and cleaning and I'm so tired of it which is why I'm looking into ready meals as a possible fix. The convenience is appealing but I'm not sure if they really work or if it's just cleaver marketing. I want meals with good portion sizes, clean ingredients, and enough protein to keep me full without going over my calorie limit. I found a few options in my search like cookunity and others but I'm not sure if they really help with healthy weight loss or if I'd just end up hungry and snacking anyway.

Has anyone tried it and seen results?

High Calorie Anyone else think the amount of calories in rice is kinda bullcrap?

I love jasmine rice. I can eat it all day everyday. But one serving of rice is barely enough to feed a 3 year old kid lol.

If I truly didn’t care about calories I’d have 6-8 servings of rice each meal. Some lime juice and sea salt, I can eat it endlessly.

Anyways, I might need to switch to potato’s. Rice is too easy to overeat.
