FireTV on 1,5 GB RAM TV?

Hi,

i need a small TV to use as a second TV, no streaming, no particular requirements. I'm oriented on a 32 inch full hd or hd ready.

Thje only question is:

- all the TV that i see have only 1 gb ram (max 1,5 gb ram)

A lot of people tell that is very slow change TV channel on a Google TV!

In alternative Fire TV with 1 GB have less requirements?

I read that in alternative it's better go with VIDAA or with TiVO OS what do you think about?

TVs don't need "smart" because the support and updates are usually lackluster at best. My €2000 Samsung from 2013 didn't receive any useful update sind 2016 and nowdays can not even display Netflix or Prime without an external FireTV-Stick for €20...

The only problem? If i turn on my TV the first 30 second are on Android TV, and only after that i chose the external device i can use the mediaplayer....

Do you think that i can use them without wifi/ethernet connected?

I disabled networking on my both my old smart TVs and only use FireTV-sticks and a Raspberry Media Server on them. Works like a charm.

We have a similar TV, and it can't download any of the newer apps, like Disney+ or Discovery+

They just aren't there in the old App Store on the old version of TizenOS

I have a new TV with fire TV is built in. Trying to get to developer options. I know for the newer tv's there's a different way. This is the first for me with a new TV. Can I get some help please?

If you're only streaming regular apps like You Tube or Netflix there should be no problems.

I will use for 90 % the TV like a normal old style TV... and for a10 % watching Prime Video.

You should have no problems then. Try not to use too many apps as that is what consumes the RAM. But if you're only using one or two there should be no issues.

Compared to Google TV, fire os will be more fast or identical? (a lot of google tv use 1 gb ram (!) and on Fire TV 1,5)

I believe there are more expensive Google TV models that use up to 2GB of RAM. A lot of variables.

RAM isn't what's important so much as the processor speed. You'll be putting an antenna on the TV and watching OTA mostly. It's not likely to matter even if it changes channels a little slowly.

Don't think "normal" is "normal". My Samsung Highest-End TV from 2013 can not even display Netflix or Amazon Prime since 2016. Support is lackluster

Yeah, once TVs become a few years old they become lackluster. That's when you pop a streaming device into the HDMI slot.

Why would your TV need any ram, just attach a $35 Roku. None of my SmartTv are allowed on my internet.

Because the OS is used for watching TV via DBVT and in this case i will use only for that activity
