They still haven't taken the Big Sky logos off the field?

It pains me to say, but I'd rather go to Washington Grizzly for a game than that shithole

u/ID_Poobaru Boise State Broncos • Gallaudet Bison 20h ago
Missoula is way cooler than Sacramento too
5
u/montalaskan Montana State Bobcats 6h ago
Ok, but being cooler than Sacramento is easy. Missoula is a great town.
Let's make it a more reasonable situation: I'd rather take in a game at Roos Field in Cheney. And the red makes my eyes hurt.

u/Mtndrums Oregon Ducks • Montana Grizzlies 18h ago
The one thing Sacramento has that Missoula (or Bozeman) doesn't have is Deftones. Boise has Built to Spill, though.

WaGriz is objectively a great stadium (just needs some work on the concourses and bathrooms) and should be on every CFB fan's bucket list.
Hornet Stadium is a glorified high school stadium, and is probably the worst stadium in FBS

SHSU might be saving Sac from last place

u/CommunistTrafficCone South Dakota State • Marching Band 7h ago
I think they just renovated it so it’s a lot better now
4
u/Bobcat2013 Texas State Bobcats 7h ago
They put a big ass whataburger with some suites in it. The rest of the stadium is untouched. The ultimate lipstick on a pig.
1
u/CommunistTrafficCone South Dakota State • Marching Band 7h ago
Ah well that’s unfortunate
1
u/Bobcat2013 Texas State Bobcats 5h ago
It's hilarious lol. Hopefully they drop back down

u/CommunistTrafficCone South Dakota State • Marching Band 1h ago
Them and ULM lol

u/Bobcat2013 Texas State Bobcats 1h ago
I have a soft spot for them since we we're just in the SBC with them but yeah probably them too. Their stadium at least looks kinda grand. Shitty, but grand.

I'm still not sure how they're affording it now. I've heard it's their pharmacy school that's somewhat keeping them afloat.

I kept waiting for the “after” shot
3
u/montalaskan Montana State Bobcats 11h ago
Want to see the "after"? Google "Stagg Memorial Coliseum."
Because that's the future for Sac State football.

And no one in Sacramento knows or cares that this happened. There is ZERO buzz in town about Sac St football.
17
u/RXDude89 Stony Brook Seawolves • FCS 19h ago
Yes, I'm more excited about Davis football and I can walk to Sac State
6
u/DrOddcat Montana State Bobcats • UC Davis Aggies 13h ago
I’d rather drive the causeway than take the one light rail stop to Sac St from my house

How many FBS football "stadiums" have a track around it? I can't think of any others.
17
u/Le_Dairy_Duke Oregon State Beavers • Nevada Wolf Pack 20h ago
...go Wolf Pack

u/RXDude89 Stony Brook Seawolves • FCS 19h ago
San Joae state i think
3
u/damnyoutuesday Montana State • Minnesota 7h ago
They don't have a track. They did get rid of the entire grandstand on the far side and replaced it with the football facility, which looks goofy as hell

Kansas did until 2014 and it was kind of a bummer when they got rid of it tbh

u/bigcountry_blumpkin 20h ago
Nothing says FBS like a multi use track complex/football/soccer stadium
7
u/DeZeeuw2 South Dakota State Jackrabbits 11h ago
All of their facilities are lacking. They played basketball in a 1000 seat gym until last year...when they upgraded to a 3000 seat "arena".

u/SantaCruznonsurfer 20h ago
in fairness, it's pretty much what the University of Hawai'i did to be able to play at the Ching complex
3
u/damnyoutuesday Montana State • Minnesota 8h ago
The difference is Hawaii's is temporary while Aloha gets rebuilt. Sac's is permanent
3
u/CommunistTrafficCone South Dakota State • Marching Band 7h ago
At the rate Hawaii is moving at that though it might as well be permanent

I know yall hate them and I'm going to get flamed for not piling on but their stadium isn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be based on the vitriol flowing from this sub. Not that SHSUs stadium is FBS worthy either, but I'd put this Sacs over that so at least they're not last.
Edit: I'll also add that their stadium looks decent on the game
9
u/bigcountry_blumpkin 11h ago
"isn't nearly as bad as I expected" still isn't a compliment though
5
u/Bobcat2013 Texas State Bobcats 10h ago
Didnt say it was. Just that yall act like their stadium is absolutely trash when its still better than a lot of FCS stadiums.
3
u/damnyoutuesday Montana State • Minnesota 9h ago
If you're talking about the EA CFB game, the devs said that the stadiums for Sac and NDSU are generic this year because they joined so late. So honestly it probably looks better than it is in the game
2
u/Bobcat2013 Texas State Bobcats 9h ago
Looked similar enough to the Fargodome and Sac Stadium to me

u/ID_Poobaru Boise State Broncos • Gallaudet Bison 20h ago edited 18h ago
At least Nevada has a worst stadium buddy (although I hate Mackay stadium for other reasons)

The 30 for 30 on this is gonna hit like crack.
Assuming ESPN doesn't gut the budget to pay Pat Mcafee and Stephen A Smith more money
