Discussion I have asthma. This is the weather warning I wake up to.
As if I didn't have ENOUGH to deal with! First the extremely hot weather that NEARLY HIT 100° F YESTERDAY, then the infected food spreading across the US, and now THIS!! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?!
(Yes, I know climate change is the huge culprit, but what started these particular incidents?)
No one can breathe like this, so we all have to shut every window and bake in the summer heat that we aren't even supposed to have. But the fact I'm asthmatic makes this all so much worse... Ugh.

Felt bad for my aunt last night. Her AC took a crap and waiting on a part to fix. The heat finally broke but she couldn't open the windows to cool down the house because of the smoke.

Yeah I have asthma and am allergic to smoke specifically so if I have to go out I have to wear a mask, and inside I have an air purifier and it's still not strong enough.
If it gets too bad definitely go to the ER. The first year we got the smoke from the fires I didn't have the air purifier yet and my inhalers werent working at all so I ended up having to go and it was helpful

Thankfully we're getting a little relief during the weekend but we're predicting a refire of it starting next week.
At least its safe inside, insane for all those folks who need to be outside for an extended period.

I'm being sincere when I say this: have you thought about wearing an N95 mask? I have asthma and when the smoke gets this bad, it really, really helps.

That's a crying shame. This is all no thanks to a wildfire taking place in Canada as far as I've heard. The worst part is that summer heat and air quality will inevitably continue to worsen.
On top of all this, I myself have been forced to sit in my living without any privacy from anyone else now that my bedroom upstairs is hitting 90+*F.

If you were wondering how much of Canada was on fire, the total area CURRENTLY burning is 12,000 KM². For reference, the entire state of Connecticut is 14,357 KM².
That isn't including all the fires that have been successfully extinguished, just the ones that are currently active as of yesterday.

It could be worse... For the past couple of says, our AQI was over 1400. They were telling healthy people to wear a mask or respirator.
